Hey man that's a very strong character design are you thinking of a storyline for this guy?

Hey "Cliff" (short for "Cliffhanger).

I already have 95% of his story done; I just need to finalize small details of his origin and I'm considering making a submission [of him] and/or my team GEMINI 5 to the Publishing company, Oni Press. Unless I already missed the opportunity, Oni Press is accepting submissions of original, creator-owned characters, stories, etc this month, so...I've been strategically sharing images of my characters so as to make whatever preliminary impression I can. You never know "who's" visiting your thread; could be Joss Wheadon, The Russo brothers or someone else looking for the next big thing.

As far as The SYMBOL'S story? Just think of the TV series "24," but with a patriotic, Batman type of character in the lead role. Instead of Jack Bauer, there will be The SYMBOL. I'm kind of at odds with his origin as I originally conceived it though, because the event, which propelled him into superhero, vigilantism was 9/11. I created him 1 month after the tragedy, because being a superhero fan I am, that was how I creatively expressed my thoughts concerning the matter. Of course, not intending to exploit 9/11, I want to be respectful of the event and those who actually lost loved ones, friends, coworkers, etc. But, the full story of The SYMBOL is very in-depth and has a very strong message of loss, guilt and redemption to it.

Sorry for rambling, but...I type fast and sometimes get lost in conversation.

But...thank you for the compliment about his design. I'm proud of it too, particularly his name. It tickles me to know that Christopher Nolan used the term in Batman Begins in the scene when Bruce Wayne was telling Alfred on the private jet that Gotham needed a "symbol." Being that I copyrighted the character (concept and name) in 2002 and Batman Begins came out in 2005, well...no one can say that I got the idea from that movie.

Well...independent or not, I have NO problems having a publishing company offer to take my character to heights I wouldn't be able to achieve on my own budget, contacts and other resources. There have been many people who believed that they had the "next big thing," did the necessary things to make it happen and...nothing happened. Such is the risk and chance to get into the comic book industry.

Thanks for the compliment concerning the very general description of The SYMBOL. As much as I like his concept and story...GEMINI 5 is even more involved, different and dare I say...unique.
