Barakapool set the bar pretty low. So long as Fox can improve on that, I think this movie could work. Then again, Fox has disappointed us many times before so I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I hope they introduce Cable at the end

so not only could they introduce X-Force but do a Cable and Deadpool movie
Captain, in Order to build a better world, sometimes means tearing the old one down... And that makes enemies.

Will this have references to Weapon X? Or is this taking place outside of the other X-Men movies?

Colossus appears so I'm guessing it is still in continuity of the X-Men movies.

    Is the villain still Ajax?

They should just do a straight-up adaptation of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and tell the North Koreans to suck it. That story was fantastic.

Hopefully the big heads over at Fox have no input in this at all like they did with Origins and leave all the work to Feige and the writers/directors

So he's going after Killebrew? I wonder who plays that role.

Finding it hard to contain my excitement anymore.

My only quibble so far with this movie is the design of the Deadpool symbol. The costume is great. The logo is straight off the comic cover. Even the synopsis reads like it's from the back of the Deadpool/Death annual. We've got Weasel, Vanessa, maybe even Blind Al, possibly Killebrew and even Ajax. All that said and with this movie seemingly pulling so much from Joe Kelly's character-defining run, I'm a little disappointed they're not using the simple "half-circle" DP symbol design from that era. It's just seems so much more iconic. All the variations of the "squinty-eye" look immediately give me flashback to the dark days of Way. Plus all the addition detailing just makes it look like Spawn. The most frustrating part is if you zoom in on that costume pic you can see that Wade's belt buckle is that classic Kelly-era symbol. It's right there! You were so close!

That nagging beef aside, this seriously looks like it could be the most accurate thematic translation of a comics character to film since Donner's Superman. It's just seems like the parties involved really "get" Deadpool. Never thought I'd be excited for a non-MCU "Marvel" movie ever again.

Anyone else reminded of the way Marvel Studios films titles are written with the Deadpool title?

    Something about it, you know.

Synopsis sounds fairly interesting, am also wondering if Weapon X is actually involved here or not.

Nice to seemingly have the Origins part of DP done and dusted.

Should be an interesting film, nice to finally have it making progress, being made, cast, designed, all that.

Hope this helps things for Reynolds, the X-verse and Deadpool.

The only other missed opportunity for the DP movie is that it's not in the MCU, the biggest losses obviously being getting cursed with life by Thanos and saving Earth by kicking Captain America in the nuts. That said, I'd still like to see it satirize them and the superhero genre as a whole as much as it can. I think the movie's title logo is so reminiscent of the Marvel Studios logo style because it's essentially the Deadpool logo straight off the comics. Part of me would love to see it hyphenated and stacked Kelly-style, but I digress.

They should do a straight-up adaptation of the original movie of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly! Now THAT's the type of meta-humor that we love Deadpool for.
