The thing I didn't like about the whole Sterling situation was that it gave just about everyone a chance to get on their high horse and point the finger at him as the sole source of racism when it comes to the NBA, when I'm sure each and every one of them has some skeletons in the closet as well. If you have a league where 80% of the players are black and 28 out of 30 owners are white, and a recent history of bitter labor disputes between them, you know there's way more problems there than what one senile old fart says to his mistress. Sure getting Sterling out gave everybody a chance to pat each other on the backs and pretend like everything is just hunky dory, but does anyone really believe that the move did anything to correct the deep-seated racial tensions that hover over the entire sport at practically all times?
