Fly High into the Future: Legion of Superheroes Appreciation

You know what would make an interesting new member for the Legion: Someone from Starfire's homeland and maybe Hawkeye's homeland and maybe a Green Lantern or two as members.

The Legion is suppose to be the future of the DCU right ? So why doesn't it connect more with the DC Comics heroes outside of ruins of various places I.E the Batcave and being closely related with Superman.

Green Lanterns were not allowed on Earth during the 30th (31st) century. Can't remember why but I think it had something to do with Universo. But I love the Starfire idea. Someone from Tamaran would be very interesting.

I did like it latter on in the Giffen 5 Years Latter.... run when they revealed Bounty had taken over Dawnstars body to use her powers to make him a better hunter. I love it when they find clever uses for forgotten characters.

Bahaha, totally agree with this.

Cosmic Boy and Night Girl got the worst costume treatment in the 70's.
Lydda essentially wore 3 bandaids. Rokk wore a corset and short shorts.
Although at the time, as a 13 year old bursting with hormones it all seemed very edgy.

Saturn Girl wasn't much better off, although at least she wore a full bikini for protection. LOL.

Those outfits worked, to various degrees, in the 1970's. But once the 80's came in, it looked weird.

As a kid, I once thought....why does Saturn Girl & Storm (X-Men) kinda dress the same?

It was only later that I realized the Dave Cockrum connection.

If you've never read these issues - or haven't read them in awhile, you are in for an amazing treat. Levitz's run begins slow, but once Giffen comes on board, everything comes together. The sub-plot you mention was a great mystery but I was disappointed in the resolution of it all. But it's still a great story.

And while Giffen definitely improved many of the Legion members' costumes, the constant changes gets old after awhile.

This will be my first time reading those stories. I read about them on various blogs, and fan sites.

After I pay my bills, I'm gonna dig in.

Has there been any listings for upcoming Legion trades lately? I am curious if Legionnaries and The Legion by Abnett and Lanning are getting 3rd volumes. Both have some great stuff to collect if they do a 3rd volume with Legionnaries getting to the Fatal Five/President Chu storyline and The Legion collecting Legion Worlds and The Legion series proper. I have no idea if the previous volumes sold well enough to get a 3rd, but I really hope so.
