    Default Resurrection man

Hey I am slowly reading through the first year of the new 52 via trades online. Did anyone enjoy this one? I must say its much better than I expected. The art has been great, the story keeps moving along and you never really know what gonna happen. I havent seen anyone really put this up there as a good title that got canceled. Just wanted to know if anyone else liked this book( it lasted 12 issues and a 0 issue)

The first few issues were a bit rough, but it eventually found itself and turned into a good read.

My biggest problem with it is that it had little of the dark humor of the original series. Oh, and no Butch Guice, although I thought Dagnino and Jesus Saiz were both good on the book.

I thought this was pretty decent. It would be good to see something come out of it in another book. Suriel might be a good antagonist for somebody else to go against perhaps.

Good and underrated book. It's the kind of book that people who are tired of Batman have to support to maintain some diversity,. Unfortunately, that rarely happens. As we are seeing on Swamp Thing now, Saiz is a hell of an artist

Yea the old tired of batman thing is crap. If people are tired of batman then why the heck dont they buy books like this. This book kept you on a ride, the guy had and interesting journey, had all kinds of cool powers, and considering hardly anyone ever heard of him they had a good supporting cast and built an interesting world around him very quickly. The way they moved from mainstream to supernatural in the book was very well done. It never got confusing.

Yeah. I keep hoping that DC will put out a second collected edition of it, but considering how screwed up the first collected edition was (pages out of order, splash pages split), maybe we're better off.

Have you read the original RM series? The Body Doubles were a lot better there, in my opinion. They began as a parody of those omnipresent "bad girl" characters in the '90s, but they developed a lot of charm and personality as the series progressed. I mean, Carla was bounty hunting because she wanted to make a porn version of the Wizard of Oz. Their mini was a lot of fun, too.

Nothing wrong with their New 52 counterparts, but a lot of what made the characters so unique was stripped away for a grittier version.

That's kinda what happened to the book as a whole. It was good, but the original series was great.

Agreed. I love the concept of RM a lot. I'm curious to see him on a team sometime. Always thought he'd fit in well with the Pre-Flashpoint Outsiders.

I enjoyed it. But there was no real push as far as advertising. I was expecting him to crossover with JLD and perhaps even join, but that never happened.

I don't remember pages being out of order, but I do recall splash page split and a page where it was heavily pixelated/blurry. What the hell was up with that? Though personally, I'm still waiting for that second collection.

Anyways, I read the first issue of the new 52 version and I liked it, but I haven't gotten around to finishing the rest of the comic for whatever reason.

I never read the original series but I did read this one. I really liked this series and was sad to see it go.
