    Default R.I.P. Quarterwolf

I was hoping to get confirmation it's an April Fool's gag (albeit a day late), but I'm hearing it's true, that we lost one of the Old Skool CBR posters today.

Quarterwolf (Jim Wright) is one of the folks who kept this place hopping back in the old days and although he hadn't posted much in a while (or even re-registered since the wipe, that I know of)... I kept in touch with him and he had been doing well at work and in life.

not sure what caused the sudden passing but it apparently was very (Yes, he had a heart-attack last week, but just YESTERDAY updated that he had been home from the hospital for a few days, and was feeling good).

here's a pic of CBR folks from at Dragon*con 2004

That's Jasper, Quarterwolf, Ragnarock, Solaris, and myself (on Sol's leg).

R.I.P. QW.. you will be missed.

I'm just in shock right now. Jim and I would see each other at conventions, sometimes. He was a good guy and I was proud to call him my friend.

    I can't believe he's gone.
Hope is not lost today. It is found.

I'm so sad. Jim and I were pretty tight back in the day, but I kind of fell out of touch with him and all things CBR over the past few years.

I first got to hang with Jim at Rallura and Bouncing Boy's wedding back in 2004, and then again at a few San Diego Comic-Cons. He was one of the most sincere and generous persons I'd ever met. Went looking through my pictures, but very few of him as he was kind of a wallflower whereas I was more of the social party boy back then. If anyone has any group photos from the wedding or those Cons I'd love to see them.

Aw man, that sucks. And here he was seeming to recover from his heart attack. RIP Jim, you were one of the good ones.

Here's one from a Dragon*con CBR meet up where Pol Rua couldn't attend, so the "monkey" version of him got passed around the table and ended up in cleavage.

in this pic, that's Tadhg (he was posting as Manchester Trix at the time), Rin (Darkblade) and Jim. . as I'll always remember him. Laughing.

Been quite some years since I last posted here. Still in a bit of shock to have read what his sister posted on his facebook page. After Jim's last few posts about the current status of his help I was posting words of encouragement and hoping for the best even though we never chatted as regularly compared to when I was more of a regular back in 2002-2005.

When I originally posted here back in those days quite a few people made me feel so welcome, but especially Jim aka Quarterwolf. We'd chat so often most days on here and MSN messenger. I even remember in those days quite a few of us regulars had our own chatroom which was an even better way of getting to know more people but he was especially proud if he could get other people from all over the world like me here in London, England anyone from Australia etc to all come together.

I have met 2 other people from here (Punchy I've met more than the other person who also lives in London) but I'm deeply sad I never got to visit him in Wisconsin or he come over here to London.

Here's to you Jim aka QuarterWolf! One of the kindest, nicest, loveliest, welcoming and generous people you could have ever had the pleasure of talking to, Part of my fondest memories of this website and the early 200s are my interactions with him and will never ever forget this awesome individual.
