I wish I'd caught up with him more in my last few DragonCons. I wish I'd taken more photos in 2007.

I never knew Quarterwolf but I'm sad to hear of his passing.

    R.I.P Quarterwolf.

And condolences to all his family and friends at this sad time.

He was legitimately one of the nicest guys in comics fandom. He'll be missed.

Passing along a note from Jim's Mom:

Bert and others in his online family.
You filled many hours for him with chats and posts and conventions.
He had many happy memories of many of you.

We don't know exactly what happened in the end. He had the first heart attack on a Saturday -- started out with what he thought was heart burn which went away with tums and Pepcid ac on Sunday he had a small pain that he pasted off as a pulled muscle on Monday he had a shortness of breath --- at that point he went to the walk in clinic. they did tests and only found a problem in the blood tests. From there he went in an ambulance to the hospital where they put 6 stints in 2 veins. Found out that he also had diabetes. A week of meds and tests and scheduled to go home on Saturday. a walk in the hall and his heart went into AFib. More meds and released on Monday with appointments for further treatment at the end on the month.

On Thursday a life watch monitor he wore since he can home called us saying there was an alert. We found him already gone. He had gone to bed feeling in good spirits and glad to feel comfortable in his own bed. He simply never woke up. We don't know exactly what happened and never will except he went peacefully and now we are faced with our lives with out his wonderful presence.

Gone too early at only 41. No mother should ever have to bury her child.

So for all of you out there..

Do something for Jim. if there is any reason for concern go get checked. If you have heartburn don't just pass it off and for girls it may be different.

Say safe and have to think of him once in a while

I used to post here back in 2004-2006. And I just returned after a long hiatus a couple of years ago. I didnt really know him but I remember him. I conversed with him a couple of times on the X-Forums and Comm Board. He was a very courteous poster and I enjoyed his posts/insight on various topics. I wish strength and comfort for his friends loved ones. R.I.P
