    THE DEFENDERS

    NAMOR

Namor and DCs Black Adam are often compared. I’d like to think if Namor started his own team of Defenders, it would end up mirroring Black Adam’s team from the Black Reign event in JSA from a few years back. Namor would choose those who, like him, are willing to cross lines.

    ATLAS
Atlas and Atom Smasher have similar power sets. AS joined BA to work out his anger issues. Atlas would join Namor because he’s always at his best when someone else calls the shots, be it Nefaria, Zemo, or even Hawkeye. As a Defender Atlas would re-focus as the team’s big man.

    QUENTIN QUIRE
Like Brainwave for BA, Quentin Quire would be Namor’s young smart mouthed psionic attack dog.

    THE GRIFFIN
Griffin and Namor have history going back to John Byrne’s old book. Namor would pull him in to fill out his team. Like Northwind Griffin has that winged non-humany deal going on.

    GHOST RIDER
GR/Robbie Reyes, like Eclipso/Alex Montez is a young Hispanic man fighting for control of his body w. a powerful demonic force.

    ECHO
Similar power sets here, between Echo and Nemesis; photographic reflexes in this case. Both serve the same purpose on their teams as the badass mostly normals/stealth characters.

NEW ENFORCERS (a team of ambitious and relatively high functioning lackeys who took advantage of Hobgoblin's services or the Hench App to promote themselves to costume villainy and form a syndicate of their own)

    1. Basilisk (brand new - same powerset as the original)

    2. Mindwave (brand new - female - psychokinesis)

    3. Turner D Century (a new guy emulating the original recently introduced in Superior Spider-man's book - gadgeteer)

    4. Water Wizard (brand new - hydrokinesis)

    5. Shellshock (brand new - weapons specialist)

    6. Megatak (the original - freed by this group from Project Pegasus because he's quite formidable)

i have backstories for most of them. but i'll keep it simple for a change. they each have a personal reason to feel as if they deserve to be big time villains.

My idea for a new, heroic Sinister Six, based on a classic villainous line up...:

    MADAME WEB
Has a powerful vision and decides the only way to avoid a disastrous possible future is to take out the cause of it, an unsuspecting Spider-man.
Dr. Octopus connection-has extra appendices via her cybernetic chair.

    DR. DRUID
A friend of Web’s from way back when he had hair, and she was a pretty good dancer. She outlines the situation and he agrees to help her. He immediately begins infiltrating Spidey’s everyday life.
Mysterio connection-a perceived C-lister who deals in illusion/ mind manipulation.

    ULYSSES BLOODSTONE
Having safari’d w. Sergei Kravinoff, Bloodstone’s heard his share of Spidey stories, and wondered if he could ever bag the hero. Now, in helping Web, he gets a chance to try, for a good cause, of course.
Kraven connection-a great white hunter w. metahuman powers, who’s known to hunt exotic prey.

    NIGHTHAWK
Never too busy to help, or too busy at all, NH agrees to help Web. He suggests this team stay together once the crisis is over, and become the new Defenders. He’s met w. a big round of NOOOOOO’S.
Vulture connection-a winged wonder who achieves flight using mechanical means.

    CHARCOAL
After coming back from the dead, regular sessions w. Web helped Charcoal piece his mind back together. Though he respects the legendary Spider-man, he owes Web, and so of course he’ll help.
Sandman connection-has a distinct earth based elemental power set.

    LIVING LIGHTNING
Last time we saw LL, he was playing poker w. The Grandmaster. Now he’s taking a gamble on Web’s vision being right. If it’s a choice between Spider-man and hundreds of thousands of lives, well, it’s no choice at all. Spider-Man is going down.
Electro connection-a living dynamo, able to absorb/use electricity in various ways.

The new Monster Hunters - They work for Doctor Strange investigating and taking care of the smaller scale stuff while he deals with the big picture threats. His strike team more or less. A town in overrun with werewolves they come in and clean house that sort of thing.

    Elsa Bloodstone
    Devil Slayer (Danny Sylva)
    Caretaker (Sara)
    Jinx (William Hastings)
    Alejandra Jones (former Ghost Rider)
    Bloodstrike (Eric Conroy)

I might go for different characters, but that’s a really cool concept!

Great thread idea! Wow, anyone from the Marvel multiverse, but only six characters. Sheesh! I very much doubt I will be able to come up with much of a concept for my team but I am having fun coming up with the team right now and hopefully will post it later today. I hope others will post more teams as well. It's fun reading everyone's ideas and lineups.

Great concept and interesting team selection. I like how you gave reasons for each character to join a team that had this kind of mission statement. Definitely an interesting idea for a comic. I also love that you included pictures of the characters.

Ha! I actually did laugh out loud at this.

I agree that this is a really great concept too, and neat character choices.
