It's been more fun than dangerous for us. We went to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens today, caught a few and enjoyed their Japanese Gardens. Also ran across a squirrel with huge balls. Pretty sure it got stung by something, the poor little bow-legged dude.

Sounds like fun! (For you, not the squirrel.)

So if things go well with Comixology, are you gonna go for a floppie edition?

Oh, definitely! But a lot of things will have to fall in place. Making comics is expensive.

They also released it in trade! But I dig that you saw that and thought of me, man.

Probably gonna order the trade at some point. Sooner or later. Once I stop paying for non-essentials like food and gas. Gah!

Feel like he or she is gonna be getting much cooler stuff than I'm used to buying for myself. Will have to wait for when they go off to college and raid their childhood bedroom.

Reviews are not looking good for Suicide Squad.

I heard the plot was weak, but that it's more about the characters involved. Sooooo, basically it's Deadpool.

Deadpool was well-received. And while a few performances were great, the story was well-told.

Folks seemed to like Deadpool for the comedy and some of the characters. It was a pretty thin plot, though. Not bad, just thin. It was basically an excuse for Reynolds to run around as Deadpool for two hours.

DCU is 0/3 b my money. Even the much-reviled-before-it-hit-cinemas Ghostbusters is sitting far better critically than SS. Who saw that coming?

I think this article paints a pretty accurate, and pretty messed up, picture of what happened with Suicide Squad.

The basic jist is that WB grew nervous over Squad after the tepid response to Batman vs. Superman and ordered reshoots that they tested alongside Ayer's original film.

(At this rate, Geoff Johns' takeover of the DC films may come too little, too late.)
