Just over a year ago we counted up the votes of 76 members in a Year Three poll to create this table - an ongoing an exercise in curiosity and a bit of fun that may also, who knows, help as a prompt for anyone looking for ideas on what to grab next. And so here we go again, round four

The purpose of refreshing the poll is to a) keep it current and relevant and b) grow the number of contributors...this year we should push 100 voters! It's also just interesting to see how the table changes shape year on year. Submissions from the Year Four poll will be added into the current rankings - with every vote affecting the final order of the list .

Open to any trade in the Batman umbrella
We're not just limited to the main man

Ranked from One-to-Twenty
Submissions of under 20 trades cannot be counted; submissions must be ranked in a deliberate order.

Must be a collected edition
If you've read the story in single issues then that's fine, however you'll need to vote for it in a collected form. For instance a vote for "the Greg Rucka Detective run" is probably best matched by Murderer/Fugitive or Batman Evolution.

Vote for your favourite books, not the "most important"
The IGN list explains this perfectly; "Sometimes too much importance is placed on the significance of a story rather than the quality of the storytelling. A story needs to be compelling beyond just the plot twists. It's not enough just to be a good read, each of these books must linger in our memories." You get the idea.

Group Voting
This is to simplify your list when it comes to multi-volume stories, runs, collections etc. Group Voting means that if you're choosing No Mans Land, for example, you don't need to use up four positions to include the whole thing, and you don't need to pick your favourite volume at the expense of the rest. Therefore a vote for NML vol.4 will also count for NML as a whole. Likewise a vote for Batman Reborn is a vote for the entire Grant Morrison "Batman & Robin" run. This also means you can't stack a submission with more than one type of book or anything too closely related.

Just so we’re *absolutely clear* on this part, please refer to list below; if it has a parenthesis alongside it is part of Group (also note from this year Long Halloween and Dark Victory are collapsed into one) - multiple votes from one Group cannot be counted.
