    Default Watchmen Marvel style!

This topic might have been done previous to the forum upgrade but I thought "Eh, why not revisit it again"?

Out of all the Marvel characters that could match the Watchmen in archetype I thought these would do the trick in maybe some sort of pastiche alternate Marvel earth:

    Rorschach - Moon Knight
    Dr. Manhattan - Molecule Man
    Nite Owl - Nighthawk
    Silk Spectre - Hellcat
    Ozymandias - Baron Helmut Zemo
    The Comedian - Crossbones

Diamondback would also work for Silk Spectre but I think Hellcat fits a bit better especially given her ties with Nighthawk in the Defenders and her costume color is closer. Ozymandias was probably the hardest to nail down but I think either Helmut or Magneto (if you want to go the super powered route) are the closest to him. Thought about Punisher for Comedian but Punisher's not necessarily a scum bag so Crossbones works pretty much perfectly.

Anyone have alternate picks for a Watchmen Marvel style?

    Dr Manhattan - Sentry
    Comedian - William Burnside
    Owlman - Hank Pym
    Ozymandias - Tony Stark

    Rorschach - Golden Archer
    Dr. Manhattan - Nuke
    Nite Owl - Nighthawk
    Silk Spectre - Lady Lark
    Ozymandias - Doctor Spectrum
    The Comedian - Haywire

    Or...

    Rorschach - Shroud
    Dr. Manhattan - Quasar
    Nite Owl - Falcon
    Silk Spectre - Silver Sable
    Ozymandias - Hank Pym
    The Comedian - Foolkiller

Hmm this is definitely more of a super powered route but kind of works too, who'd you have for Silk Spectre and Rorschach?

    Huh, some interesting choices there.

Why Golden Archer for Rorschach? I would have thought you'd switch Nuke for Comedian and Doctor Spectrum for Dr. Manhattan.

I originally had Golden Archer for Comedian until I needed a Supreme member fo Rorschach.
And I figured Haywire being the least popular and least known, would be better off as the one that's killed.

Nuke, being an analogue of Firestorm, just seemed like the one who would have his powers possibly going nuclear.

Ah I thought you meant Frank Simpson Nuke instead of the Squadron Supreme one, should have figured.

Your second list is pretty good actually.

Moon Knight would be fine as Rorschach.
I don't know who else would be a good silk spectre haha

    Default Watchmen Marvel style!

Comedian- Nuke (Frank Simpson) or William Burnside decked out as Scourge from Andy Diggle/Jeff Parker's Thunderbolts
Crossbones is not only a scumbag but he's a hebephile who has a brutal history with...

    Silk Spectre- Diamondback

Nite Owl- Falcon his Fal-Cap outfit puts him in Comedian territory so, switch to his old suit

Rorshach- Moon Knight especially with the white suit Warren Ellis put him in.

Dr.Manhatten - Sentry with Void persona or Molecule Man or Weapon Omega http://marvel.com/news/comics/8191/d...s_weapon_omega who ever has the better power set and is more detached from reality (I'm leaning towards Molecule Man, but Weapon Omega is close with his character description)

Ozymandias- Baron Helmut Zemo or Amadeus Cho (Mastermind Excello)

Dr. Manhattan-Sentry (w/th Void persona): A normal man with far too much power.

Rorschach-Moon Knight (w/th Ellis pimp suit): A violent pschopath.

Ozymandias-Baron Zemo (Helmut): Genius who wants to fix everything.

    Comedian-Crossbones: Grade A c*nt.

Silk Spectre-Songbird: Young girl who gets blinded by the brightness of the superhero world.

Nite Owl-AntMan (Scott): Second person to carry the mantle (Pym is the first, Scott's the second). Vigilante who uses his mentor's tech to battle crime.

I'd name the team either Defenders or simply Marvels. The Minute Men would be the Invaders.

I'd rather them just reprint Steve Gerber's Foolkiller mini. Next to Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme, that was probably Marvel's closest thing to a superhero deconstruction near the level of Watchmen.

The Vision (Dr. Manhattan) - Once overlooked, the Vision has by now become America's first line of defense. Using technology provided by Franklin Richards, he can appear instantly in every major American city and any Military base at home or abroad. This has not endeared America to the rest of the world. Over the years the time and commitment has forced the Vision to view things in a less emotional, more calculated way.

Scarlet Witch (Silk Spectre) - No longer a witch, Wanda focused on helping the Vision in his quest to safeguard America from escalating Military and terrorist threats in the wake of the de powering or death of the world's superhuman population. The better he's gotten at it though, the less he's seemed to need her. She feels less and less a part of him. She longs to be a part of someone.

Hawkeye (Nite Owl) - One of the few remaining heroes, Hawkeye fought with them in memory of his friends, until the government started relying more on the Vision, and not too subtly suggested he was no longer needed. Tired, for once he didnt buck authority. Retired now, he misses his friends more than ever. Only Wanda is really left, when all is said and done.
