Starting on episode 7 now.
Any guesses o who stick was talking to at the end of the episode.
Yes yes yes yes yes. F**k yes. They finally showed melvin potter and the first thing they showed was a table saw blade. I'm sure we will never get a straight up Gladiator but tyat en8ugh filled me with glee. Also Owlsley just mentioned his son Lee. Maybe he isn't the actual Owl.
I liked the fact that they didn't make it a point to try and graphically visualize what Matt's sensory input looked like. Most attempts (onscreen and in print) have fallen short. We got the one brief flash when he was explaining it to Claire and that was it.
I thought the design of the red suit was fine, but I think they went too far trying to play its reveal to a big dramatic moment and really showcase it that it sort of skewed the tone of that final showdown with Fisk. The other fights had more of a quick-n-dirty feel to them, but the last fight was staged differently than the others, with DD striking a bunch of "dramatic" standstill poses after the flips and standing for several low-angle upshots with forced perspective. Even the lighting was brighter, even though they were fighting in an alley at night. The whole thing felt a bit self-consciously done, almost like Matt was putting on a fashion show for the new suit.

On episode 8 already I really should have paced myself now I dont know what im going to do after I finish all 13 lol. This might be the first time I ever finished an entire series in a day =|
Dude I hear you, I'm going to be so depressed after these 13 episodes. This is the only MARVEL character I care about, my favorite comics character.
I just finished what seemed to be the introduction of the Hand, so here we goooooo.
I also appreciate how they TRY to show this as modern NY. I love my city and it's important to me. It's not the 70s/80s NY that brought up young Matthew Murdock. There's a new kind of crime here and I think they're handling that well. Human trafficking is a great target for Daredevil. Also making the Kingpin into less of a Don Corleone and into a fellow New Yorker who (Post-Avengers movie) has the power to make his city a better place and starts to do it is great. While he put up with the Russians, he sure takes no pleasure in their means. He seems more Lex Luthor here, than our classic Fisk. He doesn't even take pride in killing ole Horned Head. He wants him to stand down and join him. That's a departure I'm okay with. Classic Fisk would have laughed at the death of Matt Murdock.
Just finished up episode 7. This show is not letting up. I can't stop watching!
Marvel Pull - Fantastic Four, The Immortal Hulk
DC Pull - The Green Lantern, Goddess Mode
Indie Pull - The Wrong Earth, High Heaven

Just started episode 7, and Stick is just all kinds of awesome
I thought the Stick episode was probably the weakest one. Scott Glenn was great, but it felt like they were trying too hard to be coy and dance around the whole topic of magic/sorcery without directly acknowledging it.
Just throwing out some random observations:
the Matt and Foggy flashback episode mentioned a Greek girl that Matt was dating.
Mrs Gau says she's going somewhere much further than China when she leaves.
Melvin Potter throws saw blades at Matt.
Who the hell was Stick talking to?
I really dig the full red costume.
All the vague Eastern stuff has me thinking K'un-L'un.
This is more than the best superhero TV show ever, it ranks among Marvel's best live action projects ever.

Gao is definitely from K'un-L'un or one of the other mystical cities. Seeing Steel Serpent logo on the drugs was a huge giveaway. Having their drugs being called that, the old lady handing Matt his ass and implying other homeland is further than China definitely points to K'un-L'un to me. Makes me wonder if the Iron Fist series is gonna continue this plot
