They didn't actually show the guy's head being smashed.

Really, the actual amount of visceral violence and gore wasn't much (if any) more than you could see on a basic cable series. But the framing, staging, and overall context and tone of the show helped make it feel more graphic and intense that it was, visually.

The show depicted some pretty grisly violence. I just think people's attitudes about nudity and cursing are silly.

The one thing no one really seems bothered by, or discussing...

    spoilers:
BEN URICH IS DEAD?! WTF!!!! That's like killing JJ during a first season of Spider-Man. He's essential. Discovering Matt's identity? The Elektra stab? I figured that him leaving that NY paper would lead him to working at the Bugle. It was a perfect set up.
    end of spoilers

It pisses me off. just saw that scene. I have to wonder if the would have been so cavilier aboutspoilers:
killing urich if they hadn't racially changed him or even giving him an alshiemers riddled wife (which he didn't have in the comics. Really what was the point in those changes if they were just going to kill him off.
    end of spoilers

That, and her heroin had the Steel Serpent logo on the packages.

It was shame that they killed Urich, but it does get a bit more exciting, as now we know they're not sticking very close to the comic storyarcs. The changes are good. Take a look at Game of Thrones. All the spoilers are out there, and we could easily know whats coming. Even if you don't search for them, you might have an ******* friend who read the books

"The Daredevil" was brilliant show. I loved it. And it made me dislike "Agents of SHIELD" more. DD was the exact thing I wanted from adding "Marvel" to the "TV Show" teritory. When I look back at SHIELD, daaaamn it is a boring show.

The Urich thing was tough, but they did need to keep the comic readers guessing as to what would happen to whom. Killing Ben was probably the best way to let us know that what we think will happen and what will happen are not the same thing. They can always bring in a Urich analog, probably more modern. I figure they should be working for the Bugle now.

Got as far as 30 minutes into episode one and my attention started wandering. I quit watching at that point. That's no judgement on the quality of the show, naturally. Given how little of the series I watched, I'm in no position to make that judgement. And from the 30 minutes that I did watch, it certainly came across as being well put together and performed. But I do know it just isn't for me.

Do I think AoS is a better show? Nope. But nor do I think Daredevil is superior. Fundamentally, they're just very different shows and any preference people may have is less about the perceived quality of either show and more in line with what sort of drama (comicbook or otherwise) they might be into. And for me, that's AoS's flying cars and Cyborgs and kick-ass female characters.

Plus he has a hell of a slap shot....

Three more episodes to go and I almost feel like this may wrap up too quick

Foggy mentions that Matt used to date a hot Greek girl in college and that it ended badly.

So that makes Bullseye, Elektra, and Zodiac who have been referenced as possible villains for Season 2.

And I guess Owlsley's son as well.

Yeah, I was upset because I really loved this take on the character, but it was definitely shocking and ramped up the tension.

You are too quick jumping into conclusions.
