Wow, Cho really has a great sense of humor!
Robbi Rodriguez isn't exactly fond of Cho's drawing.
True, but Cho is a name in the industry and commands a certain amount of attention from the fan base. Not to mention it most likely undermines what Rodriguez wants the character to be known for.
Honestly, I didn't have a problem beyond it being an "oops!" Until Cho's response to Robbi. Then Cho just went into dick territory.
Its pretty much dick territory to threaten someone, too.
Cho is a little bigger than some Deviantart artist, which seems to be the main issue.
I think the other part is that the fans seem desensitized to the idea of drawing a non-sexualized character sexuallly. It's no biggie because it's an industry norm. Almost a default.

That's true. Still like my post said, it reminds me of instances where a creator publicly demands people stop drawing porn of their characters. I don't remember what creators did this, but when I heard about it at the time I laughed at how silly the demand was. I mean if it exists there will be porn of it somewhere. Actually I've seen Spider-Gwen drawn WAY worse than Cho's drawing. The things I've seen cannot be unseen... Anyway, it's not a pornographic image in this case, but that's what this reminds me of. Honestly it's silly to try to tell another man he shouldn't draw a character the way he wants.
There's a lot of wiggle room in this sort of thing, yeah. You can't stop people from drawing stuff as they are wont to do. But there can be an expectation of professional courtesy, even before a complaint is lodged.
It seems to mainly be the idea that you even have to complain in the first place.
Yes he did, but that just seems like a CYA move. Whether it is or not. I am sure Robbi was just really angry and flipped his lid, saying something that sounded as bad as he felt, but that he didn't really mean. But, you know, words are weapons sometimes.
Agree about Cho being dismissive. He could handle it better. But if someone said what Robbi said about me, I'd be hot under the collar. Perhaps too much so to be very civil, whether or not I was to blame.
These guys both should back away from the internet for a little bit.
Really didn't think of it that way, as sexualizing underaged Gwen. It was just a parody of Manera to me. But I can see the point now. Not really sure right now what Cho was trying to say!

Other than just not drawing it, I don't know what else Cho could have done. Inform the writer of Spider-Gwen he'd be doing a sketch cover parody of last year's Spider-Woman cover? Seems a bit much. Robbi is in his rights to not like the cover, but I think what he said in response to it was a bit much. I'd slightly understand if the cover was supposed to actually be a real cover or a variant, but it might as well be fan art (despite Cho being a creator himself).
It was my understanding that Cho drew the second cover in response to some people complaining and 'bloggers' wanting to interview him about his scandal, as opposed to seeing what Robbi said and drawing a second parody cover.
As for the underaged nature of Gwen. Honestly she's fictional and doesn't really qualify for rights. Can it be creepy? Yes, but honestly this image is the least overly sexual thing I've seen in my life. Plus how old is she exactly? I was thinking she was 17.
