At the very least, it's certainly true that Nobu had better equipment for that fight.

Rewatched the fight. Before Nobu whipped out the kusarigama, he was landing more hits on Matt with his bare hands and feet, while Matt had his sticks, than the reverse. I do feel there is some kind of skill advantage there.
Another thought while rewatching is that they both demonstrated the ability to send each other flying a reasonable distance with some of their hits, which makes me think more and more that the DD mooks were extra-durable.
DD has a bunch of feats for hitting people hard enough to send them flying. He throws Fisk, he knocks a bunch of people a pretty long way with punches and kicks, he breaks te metal bar off the gate in the sewer, he launches a grown man so hard that he knocks a door of all three hinges by ripping out the points on the wall where the hinges attach.
But sometimes, it takes a number of hits to take down mooks. So, yeah, durable mooks makes as much sense as anything else.
If guys like Vladimir are anything to go by, the mooks (or at least the mini-bosses) in DD have some pretty extraordinary damage soak, certainly.
Must be something in the air in the marvel new York universe

MCU Russians just seem to be really tough in general.
