His position as X-Men Group Editor was downsized since Marvel is getting rid of all their X-books.
I'm joking. But it's what the conspiracists will say. Lol

T. Foolery's unwieldy, yet not entirely unimpressive, collection of funny books.
Marvel probably finally remembered that Marts hired Tony Daniel to write Batman comics and they realized that was a risk they were unwilling to take for Marvel comics.

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Why would Marts would favorite those tweets? Not that I think the X-Men will be gone after SW, but if the previous editor implies Marvel isn't all that invested in the X-Men...

The only real improvement with Bat Family books and X Family books is culling the herd down to Batman and Detective and the X books down to one X Men title. Both franchises are bloated beyond repair. How could anyone manage the mess both franchises have created regardless of the relative success of both movie franchises? When you produce too many titles, quality and interest suffers.
congrats and best of luck to Marts!
now...Rachel Edidin for X-Men group editor!
So is Aftershock the next Image, or did Marts just commit occupational suicide?
He probably went to a smaller compony where he can have a better title and a significant increase in payment... The thing about any boutique companies is that they are willing to spend a lot of money to bring experienced people on board. Also, after being editor-in-chief, how hard can it be to land another editorial job in a relatively big company.
Although I was not always a fan of the creative teams and books Mr. Marts put together, all the best to Mr. Marts!
