    Default Shake-up in the X-Office

Bleeding Cool are reporting that Mike Marts has resigned as chief editor of the X-books.

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/04/...s-as-x-editor/

This seems like it came out of nowhere, as he's only been in the job a short time. What does it mean for the X-books, with everything currently getting cancelled in advance of Secret Wars? Who could we expect to take over if Marts really is gone?

Whoa! Does this mean no more X-Office at all? No more X-men? Noooooo!

    They were Inhumans all along!

But seriously, this was one short stint as editor.

Unless he was just filling in so to speak, a bridge until someone else could step in...maybe someone that is already an editor somewhere else and couldn't get out of a contract until say after Secret Wars or something...

Nothing from the rumour gives that impression but of course anything is possible. I would think if he was quitting at this point, after leaving the Batman books to come back to Marvel, is that either he found coming back to the X-Men just was not what he wanted after all or just realized that whatever offer came up at this other publisher was much more appealing (or both).

Well, he left editing Batman at DC for this job...one of the most sought after positions in the industry. One does not simply leave Batman to fill-in...

(Editor for X-line is a pretty high position as well)

Now who takes over...Complex thread gonna go crazy tonight!

Article says he quit Marvel to go to an unnamed publisher.

Edit: Also Marvel seems to be losing a lot of employees these days...

Well, you jump out of the Titanic after crashing with iceberg, not out of a perfectly functional ship, isnt it ?.

Only one choice. Hire Claremont as head X-Writer and editor of the X-Books.
Good Marvel characters- Bring Them Back!!!

I hope I'm wrong because on the previous company I've worked with, the VP and the manager resigned before the account closed.

Well, first Bendis and now Marts. There just might not be an X-Office and whatever bone they throw the X-readers will fall under some other editor.
