firestar was fine but her powers were totally dumb. did aaron just look her up on google images or something? maybe kyle and yost will correct some serious mistakes. these little bamf creatures being one of them.

I like Firestar quite a bit, she's a fresh face and quite frankly fun to look at (lol). Seriously though, she's not a bad character at all and I'm enjoying her as a part of the team along with the great characters I've loved and known for so many years before I stopped reading the X-Men. This series is a small slice of heaven for me!

I hope it continues on for a long time to come but knowing how Marvel does things now it will probably last a year or two before being relaunched again with a new creative team, but just as long as it's fun I'll be along for the ride.

I despise her but even for a fan, what is good about her joining the book ? It was only done because we can't have an Aaron X-book without a woman pining after Bobby's ice stick.

I actually for the most part enjoyed the first arc, although admittedly most of that may have been due to elation at the return of the swashbuckling Nightcrawler. The art was also very good. However, some of the characters such as Iceman and Northstarcdidn't have much to do, and I question the point of their inclusion, in addition to the value of bringing Firestar into the fold. Also, issue 5 felt a little flat compared to the preceding issues. Azazel wasn't completely intolerable, but that's the best you can say for his character I suppose.

If issue 6 is included, that served as a nice epilogue with the team all getting together to socialise, even if there were no real meaningful interactions between Nightcrawler and anybody not called Wolverine or his blood relatives.

Nostalgia doesn't really move me much, so it was kinda meh. Art was nice.

This story should've been the first arc of the Nightcrawler ongoing series. Iceman, Firestar, and Northstar are irrelevant to the story; this opening arc is about Nightcrawler's resurrection, not a new team of X-Men.

That said, it gave me feels, and the art is drop-dead gorgeous.

Nightcrawler is possibly my favourite character ever, however this arc has left me completely cold to him.

The bamfs and the overt Christian theology has taken what made the character great originally (Fun loving despite obvious handicaps and matter of factly religious without being pious) and turned the character into something completely unrecognisable.

I get that they were trying to go for a fun adventure with no hang ups of the other X-comics, but that failed in my opinion as it just leads to more questions from new readers as to what the hell led to this stage.

That said, i'm excited for Kyle & Yost coming aboard and think this may lead to being one of the stand out titles as they follow up the emotional impact of stories from the other titles.

Found the story to be average. The art good. Nightcrawler return was great. Too bad his first reunion with Mystique after coming back from the dead was done at gunpoint.
Jean loves me this I know because the church says it so.

    Havok and Emma were right.

I really enjoyed the first arc. It had a great old school feel to it with some classic characterization. That was the first I've seen of the Storm I fell in love with back in the 80's in a long time, the same with Nightcrawler. At least for the opening of the book, it appears to be doing it's own thing rather than tying into the franchise, which I feel is a mixed bag. If that's what's required to maintain the family feel of the X-Men being X-Men rather than snarky ankle-biters, then I say leave them on their own. However, I do think a title from gold side needs to step up as the relevant voice of that side of Schism rather than them just maintaining the stance of the guys who disagree with Cyclops and revolution. I'd say Amazing, given the cast, has the best shot of doing so. WatXM can't be the book because it's focusing more on students. It appears to be going the route of the new younger gen book. XF is good, but designed as a peripheral title, the same as adjectiveless.

As far as blue side books, I just can't get behind ANXM because of the nature of the story and its inherent plotholes, plus the fact that it feels too much like a replacement agenda for my perfect piece of mind. UXM I want to enjoy, but it's going nowhere fast.

I guess we'll see what happens when Kyost comes on board. When I was visiting back home last week, I talked to a friend who also owns a comic shop and he said Amazing was one of the best sellers for the X-Men line at least in his store.

I really enjoyed it, Storm was great and the art was beautiful. It wasn't a definitive story or one of the history books, but it was very fun. A solid 4 (out of 5)

Great art, middling story. Aaron managed some good emotional moment, but he just isn't good at team books, he's iffy on previous characterization, and he makes no effort to give characters he's not interested in anything to do. Won't miss him. We're losing McGuinness, alas, but I'm curious enough for the return of Kyost that I'll pick it back up at #8.
