I've seen the first three or four episodes of DD, and I'm intrigued, but, like you, wonder if non-fans get what's going on sometimes. If you don't know--for instance why Matt's listening to heartbeats is important--then I suspect it requires some concentration to follow stuff. That said, my wife, who isn't a DD fan, has enjoyed it more than I have.
