I used to eat rhubarb straight out of my grandparent's garden. It's a little sour that way, but flavorful. Rhubarb pie is good, although I tend to go for more overt sweetness, given the choice.

I'm loyal to my family and friends because I actually know them. Everything else can kiss my big toe.

DS1 still hasn't convinced me he's not Dave Sim:

One type of people I really hate are these weak-willed idiots who'll compromise themselves just to please some jerkoff they feel indebted to. "Oh, he helped me when I was in trouble, so I must help him destroy the world in return even if I personally disagree with him", to sum up such people's state of mind. Pathetic. They're just as guilty as those they obey.

Basically, to me, many people just like to be cogs in a machine. I'd rather not be a cog, or the machine that needs them (in other words, I hate suck-ups, even if it's me they worship).

Loyalty is for the weak. Strong-willed people who like someone, might find themselves doing a few things they don't like for the other person's sake, but it won't be anything major, not if the other person's right for them. The weak-willed? They'll eat crap, or do much worse, if asked to.
Like Michael said, that took a disturbing turn. None of this part has anything to do with loyalty. In fact, it kind of looks like it's you being self-aggrandizing, so much better than all those "sheeple" out there, with a heavy dose of idiotic Randian Objectivism.

A couple of my friends when I was a kid had it growing in their front yard. It's nice and tangy, but I've always liked sour stuff.

What Shawn and Dox say. Rhubarb has an delicious sour tang.

Historically, it is also one of the first food plants ready to be harvested and eaten in the spring, which is one of the big reasons for its popularity.
