Avengers #1 forever.
Though I was introduced to their origin in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes, "Breakout: Parts 1 + 2."
Though for me, the perfect origin would be the cartoon/Silver Age origin with the lineup of Iron Man, Thor, Hank Pym, Wasp, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch.

I have to go with Avengers #1 too. It's not a great comic - supposedly Lee and Kirby knocked it out at the last minute when Daredevil was delayed, and I can believe it. But it's fun and silly and does what it needs to do, telling us how Loki accidentally brought Earth's Mightiest Heroes together. Everything else is a retelling of that same story, but longer and not usually as much fun.

I love The Joe Casey and Scott Kolins origin mini. I thought it was amazing.

The original is still the best to me.
Earth's Mightiest Heroes (miss that series) gets an honorable mention.Kurt Angle:"Canada is lacking two things.The first is Olympic heroes,and no Ben Johnson does not count.The second is Memorial Day.We in the States celebrate our heroes by having barbecues.I realise here in Canada you can't have barbecues because you'd be attacked by a moose,a caribou or even a grizzly,it's true! Hold on a second - you'd probably be attacked by a grizzly as well.On second thought..the Grizzlies don't beat ANYBODY here in Vancouver,let alone anywhere else,it's true,it's true!"

It is a shame that more people have not read this mini. I thought it was an amazing idea to take the first 16 or so issues of the original series and not change it but just fill in more details about what went on between the original stories and flesh out the characters. I really wish Kollins had stayed on with Casey and done the 2nd mini series too.

I dont see how the movie is any better than the Cartoon unless people didn't watch the cartoon at all, talking about EMH obviously, the current cartoon is awful and just movie promotion + Falcon. Originally Posted by LifeIsILL

I voted for EMH because thats something that I've actually seen, I didnt read the comics but Avengers 1 team seems to be the same without Captain so I would say its either Avengers 1 or EMH.
