Not going to post the leaked video, because that's probably a no-no here, but just saying...

    It's on Variety.com...

    http://variety.com/2015/film/news/ba...ne-1201474431/

And so far, it's been up and staying up. Go watch it ASAP.

Love Luthor's voice and Affleck's Batman, too. Jeremy Irons's Alfred voiceover is pretty cool, too. Total teaser, but only makes me want more!

    Pretty dark.

    "False God" vs Batgod.
If ten years of recording The Young and the Restless for my mother have taught me anything, it's that characters in serial dramas are always happily in love...until they're not

    and...i slept through the leak.

Sounds like it was awesome. I'm especially excited to hear Eisenberg as Luthor. I guess I will have to scour the net and see if I can catch it.

It's a Batman-ified Superman movie. Just like the first. Dark, "badass," gritty.

It might end up good (though I didn't like the first movie), but you can still say this is not what Superman films should be.

The "Yo that was kewl" crowd is sure to love it. Just like they loved the Nolan films.

As a Batman fan, this movie is right up my alley. Too bad I'm a Superman fan too, I guess I'll have to wait more years for those films again.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Zach Snyder = Superman's Frank Miller
I remember back when DKR came out and, a couple of years later, the first Michael Keaton Batman, saying to a friend of mine that, the way things were going, if they ever did a new Superman movie, it would be all dark and gritty because that seems to be all they think sells anymore. He replied that it was great to present Batman that way but would be ridiculous to present Superman like that because that's just not who the character is.

And here we are. Ironically, that same friend loved "Man of Steel". Personally, I liked it but I think they made a huge mistake in thinking audiences would not respond to a bright and positive Superman movie. But it's the nature of Hollywood (and comics) that if one thing is successful, there will be copycats everywhere.

But this series was never intended to be a Superman trilogy. I'm almost surprised they didn't lead off with Batman and then bring Superman in since the tone is Batman's even in the first movie that he's not in. I wish they had faith that a Superman trilogy could work. But it would have to be a trilogy that embraced the Superman concept.

If I had to choose between Superman and Batman, I clearly go with Superman because I hated Miller's DKR and I know it had a lot to do with how Superman was treated although I disliked it before I even got to that part so that's not the only reason. But I'd rather go with something that gives us the two characters as the best friends they once were. Yeah maybe that's all Silver Age and not dark and cynical enough but it would be a welcome change. Maybe that's the thing. For movie-goers, a dark Superman and he and Batman having real antagonism is something new. But for comic readers, it's been plodding on for almost 30 years now.

    No need to scour far.

It's on the homepage right now.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Which I just discovered just before you posted this. lol

Just watched it. I liked it overall. The meta commentary from Charlie Rose and Degrassi is nice. Eisenberg sounds ok as Lex. A little too "young" but I can get over that. Great dialog.

I think Affleck is going to kill it as Batman. Love that voice. Better than marble mouthed Bale-speak.

Oh and Henry looks even more like Superman come to life here than he did in MOS. Loved the look on his face in the crowd shot, and the shot of him lifting...Something. If that ain't Superman in all his glory, I will eat my hat....(IF I had a hat...which I don't....not really.)

Do I wish the tone was a bit lighter? yeah, a little. However, unlike some posters here (whom I'm sure we will hear from soon preaching about lizardskin suits, and "Snyderism") I will actually go and actually see the movie rather than base my opinion on the trailer alone.

Zach has done 300, Watchmen, parts of Miracle Man. Why not parts of Dark Knight? In the real world, Man of Steels Superman would signal the apocalypse to some people. We go a little nuts over nothing. A cosmic fist fight in Chicago would ruin my afternoon. This movie follows logically that universe. I would want it differently, but what can you do? I'm going first weekend.

In this movie Superman would be the complete opposite of the Superman from TDKR. He's not a government puppet. He acts by his own will he's doing good around the world which earns him the enmity of those who rather see him doing evil. Those soldiers are probably vigilantes inspired by his actions. Some sort of militia or cult that has pleged his alligiance to him after witnessing his heroics around the planet.

Besides, I can't tell what's truly happening in this scene. Are they cult members? Are they soldiers in a war zone? Are they American? Are they asking Superman to protect them or help them fight someone?

I prefer the way you see the scene to the way I've seen it at the beginning. You have rekindled my hope for this movie.

I'm pretty sure that scene shows the first time he see those guys. They sure are like that bat copycat from the second Nolan Batman movie. But instead of some average joes they are actually highly trained soldiers perhaps fanatics that eventually will prove to be too dangerous and Superman himself will have to take them out. They wear the S shield as a symbol of allegiance to the man of steel.

Yeah, in any case, it'll be one of the reasons why Batman will be against Superman.

So is Batman going to have Oliver bail his ass out this time?

Really, I mean, if they do fight...I feel like it's going to be ridiculously contrived like in DKR. Superman should crush a suit like that no problem.

Default So there's a small snippet of the Superman vs. Batman fight from a special screening.
