They're finally closing Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios and becoming a donut shop?

No? Then I think they're going to be as predictably similar as they are now thank you very much Alonso.

We have a tremendous opportunity here to transform the Marvel universe in a way that makes for incredible stories down the road, for the next 10, 20 years worth of publishing.

The title isn't actually a quote from him, despite being stated as a quote from him.

Which is entirely on the Original Poster.

Not anymore. I went from a $50 a week comic habit to cold turkey.

Change is necessary for stories to be told; it sucks when so called fans complain about whatever little changes that happen within a narrative. I would hate to read a MU that is thematically stuck in the 70s.

I don't think fans are pissed that thematic changes are happening...Many changes they're implementing don't seem organic anymore. Like they have a quota to meet on shocking people, so they just throw darts at a board and change stuff, continuity be damned. Pietro and Wanda not being mutants is utterly ridiculous, all through the years they've been identified as mutants by sentinels, cosmic lifeforms etc...but in one issue, Remender threw all of that away because "ISN'T THIS SHOCKING?? DOESN'T THIS MAKE IT AWESOME?"
I'll echo some other posters sentiment that for me it's really frustrating to read Marvel comics: character growth is non-existent.

Ultimate Universe becomes 616 and the 616 becomes the Ultimate Universe...

I still love Marvel's characters, but they can't handle allowing characters to grow. They keep killing them off, replacing them, rebooting them...why not allow them to grow as people and handle the consequences of that instead of the constant reshuffling?
    All 616 titles? Seriously why?

It's not like Johnny Blaze was replaced, he still exists and still has the same powers.

If you were looking for substantial character growth through out any period of marvel's history I gotta question what you're doing here. Most characters in the universe maintain particular status quo for decades. Marvel's one of the least optimal choices for character development sagas in comics.

Events and character defining or reinforcing moments? Sure?

Character development? Man, you chose wrong publisher.

Nope because they are being drowned out mostly by the A crowd of the Hand Me Downs of the A crowd.
