Aquaman Appreciation!

So I finally had a chance to sit down and read the Annual today and I really dug it. Good to see when Murk was helpful to Arthur and the emotional beats were pretty amazing.

I really like how much Abnett plays up the magic and lore of Atlantis. Lots of writers have touched upon it but he’s really adding some nifty elements.

Y'know, given we've barely seen Mera and Orm interact in the current continuity, so it should be interesting to see how they interact/conflict with each other compared to Arthur and Orm.

And is that supposed to be Arthur's trident? Does Mera get it because of her new "Queen-in-exile" status?

This looks good. While I've enjoyed the story overall, Rath has been an underwhelming and very one-note villain. It's long past time he gets ousted.

This times a thousand. So tired of the hints that the trident is powerful, and yet it’s never shown. You’re telling me Vulko risked his life for Arthur to get just a generic fighting weapon. This better be the arc where it does SOMETHING.

I like the way King Shark looks. But how powerful is he? Is he really powerful enough to give Aquaman trouble? I always thought Aquaman outclassed King Shark.
