Thank you, Toriyama, for the countless hours of happiness your work has given me. Reading, watching, playing video games, and playing with my friends as a child, Dragon Ball was a big part of my life. Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest too . Your work will forever be remembered and cherished.

    Rest in peace, legend!

    Wow...I just...I think I'm in shock.

Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z, were one of my first real experiences with Japanese animation and storytelling growing up and I watched it religiously through the beginning, Z, GT, all the movies, and Super...and loving it, the characters, the whimsical world, battles, and heart all along. And I owe that to Toriyama-sensei.

RIP Akira Toriyama. Thank you for crafting a world where wishes can come true and the universe isn't the limit.

Akira Toriyama was one of the most significant creators in manga and anime ever.

The impact of Dragon Ball on pop culture can't be understated. It's safe to say that Dragon Ball was the gateway to anime for a lot of kids outside of Japan.

The worst thing about this is Toriyama was still deeply involved in Dragon Ball. It's not going to be the same without him.

    May he RIP.

I'm heartbroken. I grew up on the Dr Slump and Arale anime and the Dragonball manga and this news hit me hard.

May you rest in peace, Toriyama-sensei.

    Rest in peace, Toriyama.

Dragonball Z was one of the few animes I could watch as a kid as I didn't know how to surf the web in the early 2000s. It along with a handful of others on cartoon network/toonami let me get my feet wet on anime. I have fond memories of watching Gohan grow up from a scared kid to the first person who unlocked the Super Sayain 2 form, the tense battles and how goofy and lighthearted the show could be when people weren't fighting death or life battles. The world has lost a legend.
