Lol that is hilarious.
Lol that is hilarious.
Dee, because she's loyal, not just to her friends, but to her estranged husband as well. I always wondered why she didn't get with anyone, now we know the why, next up the Queens (Dee first) need official origin solo stories, or they can just sprinkle in a little bit at a time, either way works for me
I actually just got caught up, (read issue's 4,5,6 this past weekend) I hate to admit it but, I got behind on Rat Queens, the erratic schedule (we should be on issue #9 by now, even with a trade in between 5 & 6) helped though, it could of been worse, anyway, can't wait to read #7 tomorrow...
I put my homegirl, who loves Spidey, but wasn't reading at the time, (yes, I succeeded, I got a female to read comics) up on Saga, she loves it, I can't wait for her to get a hold of Rat Queens, I'm pretty sure she's gonna love this as well...
Edit... As far as the Animated TV Show, Adult Swim, does seem like the right fit, will see...

Highly disappointed, Rat Queens erratic scheduling strikes again, smfh...
Man, I was really looking forward to #7, it's not even on the 7/2 shipping list, ugh...

Oh, I agree, and I wouldn't want it any other way, ROC is a beast, but the scheduling still, needs to be more consistent, even at six weeks, 6/25 would still put it a week behind, and if it drops on 7/9, that's three weeks behind the every six week schedule...
This is true, I just which they would try not soliciting books that are not quit ready to be solicited, like Lazarus, Rat Queens, Jupiter's Legacy & Velvet, to name a few...

I think the plan from the beginning for this title was 10 issues per year.
Red Sonja? Rat Queens? Lara Croft? Anne Bonny!
I thought perhaps I should be mentioning this title over on a Red Sonja or Tomb Raider board but here's a good wide open public place.... and I think Rat Queen fans might enjoy this, too: strong, well-defined lead woman character in a believable fantasy setting with a good bit of interpersonal conflict developing, maybe even a touch of the ol' rich v. poor politics in the offing as well. Ariana has escaped drudgery in a sorcerer's palace by stealing what's likely her birthright: a magically driven sailing ship, the pirate vessel of the long-feared pirate queen, Anne Bonny.
Crisp, clear, exciting (!) art work supports some snappy dialogue from readily well-rounded characters, Ariana and her wicked sorcerer nemesis, and, wordlessly, the bow-spirit of her ship.
Anne Bonny, from Blue Juice comics: you'll probably have to ask your LCS to special order it--but it should be still around. Issue two just became available, and it's pretty much on a quarterly schedule. I actually am glad for titles like this, which I enjoy greatly, which publish often only quarterly: this gives me a chance to try several new titles with the $$ I don't spend on any one title month after month.
Now issue two didn't grab me as much as the first, all too often the case with a second issue. Still wonderful artwork and terrific coloring, but somewhat more scatter-shot than the opening issue, set-up for what's to follow rather than of substance and depth itself. Did really enjoy the bow-spirit's control of the ship, and her expressions doing so--facial expression continues to be a BIG strength of the artwork. I wish Ariana was more aware that the ship is the entity saving them over and over again, rather than much of Ariana's doing. Hoping this'll become a focal point in the story soon and be resolved, as it makes the Ariana I really enjoyed reading about last issue more irritating than anything, this issue.
If you're reading Sonja, Lara, or the Rats, and you like well-written, fun comics... you KNOW what to do!
Age/Bronze, Age/Reptiles, Alex&Ada, Anne Bonnie, Astro City, Bone, Briggs Land, Cerebus, Criminal, Courtney Crumrin, Eleanor & the Egret, Fables, Fatale, Fell, Grass Kings, Green Valley, Goon, Gotham Midnight, Groo, Hellboy, Hillbilly, Incognegro, Jack Staff, JL8, Jonah Hex, Kane, Lazarus, Little Nemo, Lone Wolf, Next Wave, Popeye, Powers, Princess Ugg, Resident Alien, SiP, Squirrel Girl, Stray Bullets, 10G, Thief of Thieves, Tuki, Uncle Scrooge, Usagi, Velvet
Keep pumping out that Anne Bonnie love Matt, haha. We need more readers for Anne Bonnie, such an awesome comic. Easily one of my favorite at the moment, just so much fun.
Anne Bonnie, Princess Ugg, Five Ghosts, Saga, Rat Queens, Groo, Goon, Usagi Yojimbo, Sixth Gun, Wasteland, Courtney Crumrin, Jonah Hex, Walking Dead, Manifest Destiny, God Hates Astronauts, Spread, Fearless Dawn, Nailbiter, Copperhead, Stray Bullets, Birthright, Bone, Lazarus
The issue is running late. It's not an excuse, but Kurtis & Roc are in the midst of convention season and the stuff with the TV show (as well as other things spinning off from the book). Like I said -- it's not an excuse and we hope the quality of the comic is what keeps people coming back regardless of the delays. We're not happy about it, and the last thing we want is for the fans of the book to be upset or disappointed in the schedule. Kurtis and Roc and the rest of the team are working very hard to have the book out on time closer to schedule moving forward.
