I really don't understand all the hate. Snyder just does more horror-ish (bloody) vulnerable Batman tales. He does a lot of what other writers do & have done with the characters. And plays well upon various themes.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft
Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”
And I don't understand all the praise. Everything he does feels like he's trying to redefine something and leave his lasting mark. Like, he's trying to make some comic that will be viewed as a game changing classic. Your'e not Frank Miller, stop trying so hard. Just focus on telling a solid story. That's what gets remembered.
[I love Grant Morrison]...ya think Grant didn't try for a game changing classic to redefine and leave a lasting mark???? Grant Morrison had Batman take down a God (Darkseid) that warped time & space to try to stop Batman! He gave Batman his son back! ..AND then killed Talia & Batman's son!
So MANY Batman writers have gone BIG with HUGE GAME CHANGING STAKES.

Oh, Dick Grayson.
Even when I don't know it's you, you're my favorite Batman.
For one, anything that is popular gets a lot of hate. Batman is a big character, and this run has a lot of people reading, and so you'll get a vocal minority who is very upset. It happens with anything that provokes strong reaction -- I think it's pretty clear from sales and reviews that this run is not 'getting a lot of hate'. It's widely popular, but part of pleasing many a very great deal is displeasing a few a very great deal.
Don't sweat it.

Can anyone explain me please that what was the point of photos that Jim Gordon saw? We thought that Joker is immortal after those photos but apparently he is not.
It's rather worrying how Snyder's run started to curdle sometime around Zero Year. It's a shame since he can write Batman well (see pre-New 52) but his newer arcs have been lacking.
Him relying too heavily on retreading what other (often-times better) writers have done before is what I've been wanting people to see for ages now. His original ideas aren't all that great.
Batgirl - ...BOP - Batman - 'Tec - Nightwing - Supergirl - Titans - Wonder Woman
Oh, so true.
It'll be interesting to see if they show his decision making process for returning to Spyral and leaving the cowl (or robo-bunny suit) to someone else this time, since he's clearly still Bruce's first choice as heir.
It'll be equally interesting to find out how many people actually knew about the substitution. Was it just Bruce, Dick and the Joker, or was everyone in on it? The villains almost certainly wouldn't be, and the solicitation for the Batgirl annual suggests that he's still in hiding from the family at that point. It's hard to believe the inner circle wouldn't notice the substitution, but they were suffering from Joker's gas attack by the time of the reveal so didn't see Dick's face. Maybe all they knew was that they were out there with a substitute Batman.
Penny-Two knows. But given that Grayson is hiding from Batgirl in her Annual, it seems like the others still don't, despite being right under their noses. It's also funny how some people can't tell the difference between Dickbats and Bruce. I remember in Streets of Gotham even Selina mistook Bruce for Dick.
Doesn't Dick have Hypnos? Shouldn't everyone be seeing a swirl on his face?
"The more 'realistic' superheroes become the less believable they are." - David Mazzucchelli
And yet they're different builds. And Dick is shorter.
Oh well, I suppose if you don't have them standing side by side and you're distracted by a big battle and general mayhem...
(I wonder if we could get a guest appearance from Penny-Two in Grayson. She is in the spy game herself, after all...)
Yeah, they should. Unless that sound blast Joker used to break the masks works in much the same way as an EMP, which we already know the hypnos implants are vulnerable to. I don't envy him trying to explain to Helena how he broke it while on "vacation" when he gets back though.
