Default What if Chris Claremont Was In Charge of the X-MEN Movies?

Seriously, Chris Claremont is a god. I love how blunt he is.

Claremont: Anything is possible. As with anything, that’s the ideal answer – and I’d love to work on any X-project. If I had my druthers, I’d be writing Uncanny X-Men but regrettably there’s another writer in the way. What one writer wishes rarely comes to pass, but I’m wide open to everything. As for what Fox’s plans are, those decisions are made on levels that I’m far removed from.

If Lord Claremont was in charge of the X-Men Films, the Claremazons would be upgraded to be front and center, and the films would be Oscar worthy.

Exactly, and women all over the world would finally receive pay equity.

I can imagine what a better world it would be for women all over.

Also Claremont would have the Oscar in the bag for the Adapted Screenplay category.

I can't imagine a better situation, to be honest. I'm sure there is one but someone would have to point it out...

Ah, this would be great. I also love that he brought up Excalibur as potential movie material.

How often have people with practically zero film-making experience ever produced/directed anything that was even remotely Oscar-worthy?

From Wiki: "Claremont initially did not view the comic book industry as the place where he would make his career, as he believed the dwindling readership to be a sign that the industry was dying, and found the material being published to be uninteresting.[10] Instead, when he began Bard College, he did so as a political theorist, studying acting and political theory,[6][12][13] and writing novels with the hope of becoming a director. His first professional sale was a prose story."

I would think that qualifies him at least a little bit? IA with ChronoRogue, Claremont is one of the main reasons for turning the X-Men around back in the day and without him I doubt there'd even BE any movies.

EDIT: The article got even better further in. "Claremont approached the job as a method actor, developing the characters by examining their motives, desires and individual personalities. This approach drew immediate positive reaction"

No, it does not qualify him a little bit. I have always wanted to learn fencing, but that does not qualify me to fence on the Omympic team any more than Claremonty wanting to have become a director, but never actually having directed anything, qualifies him to make an Oscar-worthy film.

What does the term "cogswoggle" mean? Is that some sort of British term Claremont came up with? Lol never heard that one.

I can't find the article. The link takes me to something called "gamesradar."
    https://www.gamesradar.com/tag/x-men// The link-within-a-link to newsarama doesn't help.
