This one is a grey one. He would have clashed with the studios far more than he was clashing with with heads at marvel comics in the 80s and 90s. The studio may have trimed out a lot of his writing. It's a miracle the movies did X2 and Days of Future Past . X-Men has it worse now. DISNEY.

Yeah,given that Claremont was more just than a comic book writer at Marvel around '87 or so. He had a line of SF novels out around then.

That's on Fox. Marvel has proven to far more consistent and faithful to their material than Fox was. You're judging the MCU's X-men before they've spent one second ons screen. The only thing confirmed from the franchise we have to go on is space sharks. You're as in the dark about what they're doing as we are, and it'll be years before something big happens.

Claremont: Anything is possible. As with anything, that’s the ideal answer – and I’d love to work on any X-project. If I had my druthers, I’d be writing Uncanny X-Men but regrettably there’s another writer in the way. What one writer wishes rarely comes to pass, but I’m wide open to everything. As for what Fox’s plans are, those decisions are made on levels that I’m far removed from.
