This is not new. She discovered this in an annual during the revolution era. She can control whether it can affect solid objects or not. She was able to cut Stryfes armor without cutting Stryfe.

It CAN affect organic material. She used it on Nigbtcrawler and Bishop to free them from the mind control. She even stated she had to be delicate. This is different than her TP knife. Which she didn't have at the time.

It actually made me like her less. I dont think that issue did her any favors. Hoping to see her handled better in AXM. Probably not but Im ready for a new portrayal of her bc she's been too hard and cold in recent years. I miss fun Betsy. They could stand to lower the warrior aspect of her and show more of the human side

Maybe if Betsy gets a new look she uses it as a resurrection of sorts so that she'd be a lighter character in terms of mood, she's been stuck in a dark X-Force rut for like the past decade...

Psylockes Psychoblast had TK properties, which is why she was able to brain fry/Mutilate Kapiton Briton, Hurt Juggernaut, knock people backwards since forever. It's just now they show her being able to adjust the intensity or effect.

Technically the Brain is the matter... just saying.
The Mind is where the conscious lives or so we believe as modern Science theorizes.
So yeah she hurt the Mind without frying the brain.
