Are you a fan of the movies? Are there any characters that you're interested in in particular?

I like Elektra, X Men and Spiderman. That's about it for Marvel but I'm very confused, there are SO many comics and IDK where to start.

I would really appreciate your help... do the comics take place after the movies? or? I have so many questions... Is Marvel NOW a fresh start for the series?

Movies and TV shows are based on characters from the comic books but DON'T DIRECTLY LINK TO THE COMIC BOOK STORIES!

(Sorry if that's considered "yelling", but I can't stress ENOUGH that just because something is in a Marvel movie doesn't mean that's the way it is in the comic books as well.)

You know what you should do? Just start with a couple of titles and see if you like them. Then you can go forward from there. Don't give a f#@& about anything until you know if you want to read more issues of a comic book.

You'd be in luck then, because all of these titles have recently started with new #1s, as jumping on points for new readers.. However, I'd recommend buying the TPBs to catch up as quickly as possible.

Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1: The Parker Luck
    Vol 2: Edge of Spider-Verse

    For X-Men:
All New X-Men Vol 1: Here Comes Yesterday
    Or
Uncanny X-Men Vol 1: The Revolution
    Currently Reading in Single Issues/Trades:
Marvel:Hulk (NOW), Ant-Man (NOW), Avengers: Time Runs Out,
DC:Earth 2, Superman: Earth One, The Flash,
Titan: Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor, Doctor Who: Four Doctors,
    Upcoming:
Secret Wars: Planet Hulk, The Last Days of Ant-Man, House of M,

    Very good advice!

I'd add, AhmedAliGHZ, because you said you're into Elektra, Elektra: Assassin, and Elektra Lives Again, because they're available, exciting, and fantastically done.
Patsy Walker on TV! Patsy Walker in new comics! Patsy Walker in your brain! And Jessica Jones is the new Nancy! (Oh, and read the Comics Cube.)

Are those the only ones published so far? I thought they started back in 2012 or 2013?

Spider-Man restarted it's numbering late last year, so for now those are the only volumes (although Vol 3 will be out soon). However, both of those x-men titles started in 2012. The rest of the All-New X-Men volumes are:
    Vol 1: Yesterday's X-Men
    Vol 2: Here to Stay
Vol 3: Out of their Depth
    X-Men: Battle of the Atom
    Vol 4: All Different
Guardians of the Galaxy/All New X-Men: The Trial of Jean Grey
    Vol 5: One Down
    Vol 6: The Ultimate Adventure

    While Uncanny X-Men has:
    Vol 1: Revolution
    Vol 2: Broken
    X-Men: Battle of the Atom
Vol 3: The Good, The Bad and the Inhuman
    Vol 4: VS SHIELD
    Vol 5: The Omega Mutant
    Currently Reading in Single Issues/Trades:
Marvel:Hulk (NOW), Ant-Man (NOW), Avengers: Time Runs Out,
DC:Earth 2, Superman: Earth One, The Flash,
Titan: Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor, Doctor Who: Four Doctors,
