    Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but here I go:

    I'm currently indexing all of my Hellboy (and related) books and just for the sake of it I want to list information about the printing # (mostly only for the trade paperbacks and some hardcovers, so not for single issues/floppies.

    Since different publishers use different methods I found it impossible to find out on my own just by searching for info online.

    Anyone in on how Dark Horse does this?

    Some examples from my TPB collection:

    Hellboy: Seed Of Destruction
    First Edition: October 1994
    Second Edition: June 1997
    Third Edition: November 2003
    10 9 8 7 6 5 4 -> I guess a 4th printing?

    Hellboy: Wake The Devil
    First Edition: May 1997
    Second Edition: November 2003
    10 9 -> I guess a 9th printing?

    Hellboy: The Chained Coffin And Others
    First Edition: August 1998
    Second Edition: November 2003
    13 15 17 19 20 18 16 14 12 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: The Right Hand Of Doom
    First Edition: April 2000
    Second Edition: November 2003
    10 9 8 7 -> I guess a 7th printing?

    Hellboy: Conqueror Worm
    First Edition: February 2002
    Second Edition: November 2003
    10 9 8 7 -> I guess a 7th printing?

    Hellboy: Strange Places
    First Edition: April 2006
    5 7 9 10 8 6 4 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: The Troll Witch And Others
    First Edition: November 2007
    3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: Darkness Calls
    First Edition: May 2008
    1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: The Wild Hunt
    First Edition: March 2010
    7 9 10 8 6 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: The Crooked Man And Others
    First Edition: June 2010
    5 7 9 10 8 6 4 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: The Bride Of Hell And Others
    First Edition: October 2011
    3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2 -> No idea...

    Hellboy: The Storm And The Fury
    First Edition: March 2012
    3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 -> No idea...

    Any enlightening info is very welcome; thanks in advance!

    Yeah, paper shortages are causing books to be repeatedly bumped back.

    Thanks as usual! Do we know anything about the Sword of Hyperborea's various time periods? This is probably far off the money, but I thought the critter on the cover of issue 1 looked a lot like one of the later mutants in Hell on Earth lingering around New York. it'd be kind of interesting if the narrative started with one of them picking the sword up after Howards died.

    I thought that critter looks like the beast from the first Witchfinder story. And I’m pretty sure they initially find that sword near his remains.

    Edit: on closer inspection he looks more bat like. So my theory no longer seems right
