They have to be part of this other character's franchise. It just got to a state where almost every female character book is just about "Look how great this character is" instead of telling a great story. Kamala Khan and Spider-Gwen (somewhat) are at least trying to build mythos, but it feels like most just coast on lose atmospheres.

I only just wish that they would push more of the obscure female heroes to the spotlight and not keep going "LOOK! A FEMALE WONDER MAN!"

We really need a Thunderbolts movie with Songbird and Moonstone.

    Hell, we need Runaways!

But knowing our luck, Squadron Supreme will get a film first.

After All of this, Whether You Like Josh Wheadon's Movies or Not much of a Fan, I wish their was a way to have him come onto These Boards so he could have a Talk with REAL Comic Book Fans.

It would be for US to show him the proper respect even if we don't agree 100% with his choices in movies, at least we could show how classy True Comic Book Fans can be & what True Fandom is like.

We could show him the proper respect & what a really discussion is like.

The attacks against Whedon are extreme and stupid, but does anyone have any proof that this was why he left? Whedon has been quite open about how drained and exhausted he was from making Age of Ultron, and how he's quitting the franchise after this movie. He likely had to maintain an online presence in order to promote the film. Now that it's out in theaters and a huge hit, he may not see he need to stay online anymore. The guy needs a break and he deserves it.

I doubt he thinks less of comicfans. Movie fans on the other hand he probably hates.

That would be awesome! I'd love to ask him a few questions, and let him know that I, for one, really admire his work and think he did/is doing a great job with Marvel and the Avengers.

It's not even relevant to bring up Magneto's ethnicity (also a retcon) because they're not his kids any more. I see people on Tumblr calling them "Jewish superheroes" which makes no sense even if he were still their father.

This comes up in the comics sometimes too, like in Uncanny Avengers Remender wrote a line about Wanda's "Jewish heritage," which Brevoort flagged because the character has never identified as Jewish at any time. So they changed it to "Romani heritage" (because she and Pietro were raised by Django Maximoff). Unfortunately they left the next line unchanged and wound up mistakenly referring to the Roma as a "religion."

The point being, I guess, that trying to turn '60s white characters into examples of minority representation is pretty much impossible. It's like if Peter Parker were retconned into having a black father, that wouldn't make him a black superhero.

Wait...so it's because of her Jewish (though not any more) heritage and not the Romani heritage that people are calling Whedon a racist?
