Default Good starting point for modern day Spidey?

I bought Spider-verse back during the price glitch and it'll be coming in the mail soon.
I was planning on reading Slott's run a while back but never got around to it but now I have a good reason to.
Would you guys recommend starting from Big Time>Superior>Current ASM>Spidey-verse?

I would as there are mostly very good to great stories contained there IMO. But, that is a lot of reading (and expense), so a much easier jumping on point is the current ASM #1 which picks up right after Superior if you wish to invest less time and money into this quest. But, if you have both, go for "Big Time" forward!

Big Time is the best place to start. The Big Time Ultimate/Complete Collection TPBs are the best way to catch up.

Wal-Mart has also had a version of Big Time that was cheap ($5.00).

JMS run is the best take on the character in its history in my opinion. But as a jumping on point to read in order I would agree with other posters and say big time is the place to start. In my opinion, everything between One More day and Big time (not including big time) is awfull. Terrible writing and terrible art and completely passable.

Better yet, when I bought it at the end of January, it rang up at the register at $3.50

Should we have big massive "sticky" at the top for these types of threads?

How often is this question (or variations of it) asked here?
We just had another one started this morning.
