Default Best Spidey Artist This Century

So we are already a decade and a half into a new century and it got me to thinking: who is the definitive Spidey artist thus far this century? My guess is many of you will vote JRJR so I am more interested in seeing who the "runner-ups" will be but let's get down to it! I selected what I thought were the obvious choices and tried to shy away from those who have done only a few issues here and there (apart from Marcos Martin whose work stands very tall despite his relatively modest output). Also had to include Paolo Rivera as I have a feeling his work will get votes; had to leave off others (like Steve McNiven and Max Fiumara) who only did one or two stories or this list would be dozens long. Feel free to let me know if I missed any notable artists and I will adjust if necessary---now let's rock!

Man, that's too good a list to just pick one.

Seems the ones I liked the most didn't stay long, so I'll go with Ramos. But I love me some Marcos Martin and Max Fiumara, among others.

    From this list?

    1. Romita, Jr.
    2. Camuncoli
    3. Stegman
    4. Deodato
    5. Caselli

Ramos just doesn't cut it for me. Sometimes he's great. Sometimes he's horrendous. Most of the time ... he's okay.

Only counting 616? For Bagley and Pichelli are some of the finest the franchise has ever seen.

Bagley THIS century? Excellent. Bagley LAST century? Hit-or-miss.

In terms of sheer innovation, I have to go with Marcos Martin.

Rivera has done some insanely great work. Caselli is fantastic as well.

I think Pichelli should be included here too.

The only guy better since 2000/2001 than the John Romita Jr who worked with JMS might be the John Romita Jr who did those Brand New Day comics.

I can see it. Sometimes they were off to me, but generally it worked for me. I think he was trusting the colorists heavily with the faces. A lot of detail came in through shading with the colors.

He also reused talking head shots a lot. But the guy was producing 22 pages every three weeks.

I do not believe somebody actually voted Humberto Ramos.

I love JR JR but I had to go with Marcos Martin; the guys just seems like he was born to draw Spidey. He had just the right balance of the Ditko influence but balanced with modern innovation so he never seemed like a pure throwback. And his panel layouts (just see "No One Dies")are second to none---I just wish he could handle a regular monthly schedule!

Really?? Why would you say that? I didn't vote for him (I chose Marcos Martin) but Ramos certainly has plenty of fans or else he would not be on the book as long as he has.
