Tight editing can work wonders with a short running time. A movie doesn't NEED to be 2+ hours to fully develop its characters.

Also helps that they are at the same location for most, if not all, of the film, meaning more time to focus on their dynamics as a group and eventually, as a team.

This day and age, movie runtime doesnt have much to do with a movie going to theaters or not. Plus with theater re-openings questionable, it wouldn't be out of the question for Disney to move it to Disney+ (see Artemis Fowl). I think the one thing it has going for it is it's gotten some good buzz within the industry. The one big X for it is that it is one of the few (two?) Movies that hasnt gotten a revised date. Disney has rescheduled everything except it.
