New Mutants Movie

God I hope not. I am tired of this stupid gimick and just want the X-verse to all be in the same time period. Move the X-Men back to the modern day and make everything else there going forward.

That'd mean recasting The FC trilogy actor's and that won't happen.

This could work imo like X-Men: Evolution The New Mutant's could be like 4 or 5 years younger than The X-Men.

Great Love Triangle Incoming. Yeah Maise covered in fur not a fan. Kitty or X-23 works.

I think it makes sense for Fox to swing young. Marvel outside of Spider-man isn't likely to do more until after Infinity War. DC is too grim dark for many teens. Maybe Damian Wayne but I cant see teen sidekicks soon. Teen Titans is possible though eventually. But that is like 2020 for both of them. Fox can get there first.

You do know she probably wouldn't be post-Genosha Rahne, right?

4-5 years difference is just a theory that producers will use, or fans to be fine with it, but the reality is that if they sign actors around 18-21, visually all will look the same age.

So basically there wont be a difference look wise. wasted opportunity to me

You can't hire six 12 year olds for a movie like this because minors can't work a full day on a movie set under child labor laws.


When New Mutants came out in the comics The X-Men weren't even like 30 years old yet they were all in the 20's except Wolverine.

Alexandra Shipp will be close to 27 when New Mutants comes out she won't look the same age as Maisie Williams.

If Storm is a main character , it will be odd to not have the relationship of Storm & Magik addressed somehow (not necessarily the entire Belasco limited series). The fact that the Legion story was the first official info on the movie does not indicate this will happen.

Warner did a Harry Potter franchise and heavily succesful at that, so I dont see why Fox suddenly have a problem doing something a bit more faithful to the new mutants ages in the comic.

But they always go with the easiest route, not surprising. This was their chance to do something really really different, to appeal to a younger audience yet, not the same as X:Apocalypse. But no. more 19-21 year old actors. "diversity" yeah yeah

Cypher of South Asian descent could work, to piggyback off of contemporary perceptions of "Computer Nerds"

Having just watched The Jungle Book, I can totally see Neel Sethi playing a prodigal Cypher. He could really make the relationship with Warlock work beautifully too, seeing how well he has managed to act alongside CGI characters in The Jungle Book.
