I think Charlie Heaton as Cannonball was a nice pick. I would have preferred darker skinned actors for Berto and Dani tho.

I don't. Sam being played by a short British coke-head? It just doesn't ring true for me, even if I did like him for the first(and only first) season of Stranger Things. What happened with Berto, Dani, and Cece is disastrous.

Really though I think the delay has just as much to do with everyone's schedules than anything. Masie and Anna have a particularity crammed summer/fall ahead. I think it's a good thing to note that Disney isn't replacing the original crew for these reshoots/pickups. This means that really the film as it exists today will largely remain intact. I honestly think many of the rumors of adding characters and reshooting 50% of the film are pretty overblown, and quite honestly the actor's schedules just won't allow for it.

I second this. They've been on point about a few things, but their record isn't that great. They were among those who claimed that both Dark Phoenix and New Mutants were getting dumped on a streaming service.

Since Disney is in charge of this movie now, it would make no sense to ADD more characters since this movie is never getting a sequel anyway and Marvel Studios wants to do their own thing.
