    John Boyega thought that too.
    Kelly Tran as well.
    Leslie Jones too.
    Michael B Jordan also.
    Jada Pickett Smith as well.
    Brie Larson say Hi.
    Marlon Wayans say hi also
    Batwoman say hi.

Star Wars TFA was callled an attack on white peopl and John endured the most of that backlash. That almost saw gun violence at theaters.
Kelly took the brunt of the hate for The Last Jedi.
Leslie wasn't even the biggest name in Ghostbusters-yet only SHE not Melissa was targeted.
Michael B Jordan took all the ahte for Fantasic Four with folks wanting his career to END.
Folks were ready to boycott Gotham if Jada came back.
40 hours of Brie Larson bashing was led by one former DC employee while Cap marvel was on.
Folks were mad Marlon was in Dungeon & Dragons.
Some illegally download Avengers Endgame and removed every POC and woman from the film.
Batwoman is looking for a new lead for a reason.

This does not include the bashing of a black actress in 13 Reasons season 3 or Stranger Things.

It might but since this movie is so old-it might get a pass.
Jada was one of the few things I liked about Gotham. But I remember people complained about her character from the beginning about how she didn't fit in the show and didn't need to constantly be killed off and return. To be fair though, most people seem to hate Jada for some reason.

Forgive me if this has been discussed already regarding the whitewashing casting of Henry Zaga as Roberto DaCosta...
Was there any notable reaction to the casting of Adan Canto as Sunspot in X-MENOFP? Or Sean Teale as Eclipse in THE GIFTED tv series?

More than just two. Batwoman is looking for a new lead because Ruby Rose decided to quit because of injury and not being able to keep up physically. Folks were mad about Marlon Wayans because his character was the worst sort of forced comic relief character, in an already awful movie.

In fact there's quite a few of these that had nothing to do with race or gender at all.

DOFP...I saw a few ruffled feathers on the net...I thought it was weird buuut shrugged it off cause A His character got 2 lines maybe....B. It was a reset movie in the far future not a potential franchise Soo the odds of his character returning were slim C. It was before it dawned on me that it's still a fvckin problem in Hollywood. It's funny in retrospect none of the DOFP new Mutants had the correct ancestry. As far as the Eclipse char from THE GIFTED yeeeeeah I def wasn't rocking that BS buuut they just changed a few things about the character and most thought it was a new charger created for the show

WB just pushed Tenet to 7/31 and Disney pulled One and Only Ivan from 8/14. It's headed for Disney+.

Wonder Woman 84 moved from 8/12 to 10/2. The "first" major release scheduled, Unhinged, moved from 7/1 to 7/10. Disney so far hasn't announced Mulan is moving from 7/24, but there's a lot of rumblings it will.

Some theater chains are moving ahead with re-opening, so it's not exactly lack of theaters open.

its lack of capacity. No wants to release a major film to a theater that only has limited hours and a max 25% capacity. Any studio that does so stands to lose alot of money per film. It might be best to wait this out till restriction have lifted even more

The only issue is really Friday and Saturday. Most weeknights wouldn't be impacted since there aren't sell-outs. Fewer releases means more rooms with major releases.

But I don't think WB wants to take risks with underperforming. Sony announced a few days ago their first release - The Broken Hearts Gallery on 7/10. That won't move. It's something that likely could have been VOD, can play in drive-ins and the theaters that are open and will get far more attention because it's going to be at theaters than if it was VOD.

While LA has started to reopen a little, there are some limitations that are making things a little difficult. TV spots can be done at home. The big facilities to mix trailers are still closed. Promotion is limited without talk shows starting back up.

A movie would not sell out under normal conditions but if you can only allow 25% of the theater capacity in, that will cause problems. The issue isnt about moves selling out (which I wasnt even considering). Its that the oppuortunity to make money is crippled by the current restrictions. A studio can not make as much money right now. Its impossible.

If there are 12 screens and 8 are showing Tenet, even at 25%, it could be the same as 2-3 of the largest screens with typical 75% capacity. The question is whether they're going to get that many people going to see Tenet. Nolan has his fans, but is he really that big of a draw? Will they go at a matinee showing at noon rather than showings from 7pm-11pm?

The interviews with theaters goers frequent say they want to see if it's safe and once they do, they'll consider going back. That's going to take a few weeks after theaters open up.

Los Angeles County and NYC could be the big issues with opening up and delaying everything. Movie theaters in Orange and San Bernardino Counties already are allowed to open up, so it's not like people in LA can't drive to a theater even if they don't open soon. But there were close to 2k new cases in LA County today and those numbers aren't going down.

Considering how packed restaurants and casinos which have reopened are, movie theaters should do fine. But I'm not sure studio execs want to be compared with the casino execs choosing profits over lives.

There's some other issues also complicated ramping up marketing on movies right now with quite a bit not quite reopened and not everything being able to be done at home, so it's not just an issue with theaters.

Yeah, the sight of a packed theater with no safety precautions is a PR Nightmare.

I always assumed he was a Havok knockoff not Sunspot given the relationship with Lorna.
