Anya Taylor-Joy seems perfectly cast as Magik. They definitely nailed the appearance of the character, but I have doubts that they will do her character justice.

I don’t think being older inhibits Anya’s ability to properly portray Illyana. What I’m really concerned about is how much of her screen time will be occupied by that stupid Roberto romance subplot. That feels extremely out of character to me.

I don't know what the people who wrote this film thought they were doing. I'm prepared to just ignore this film and if Hollywood doesn't implode in the next little bit, I'll be looking forward to the MCU's mutants being built up from the ground up.

Yes, not every single Black person in that time was a slave but that doesnt change that if they want back south they would have been enslaved. Black people in the north escaped slavery or were freed by former slave owners. Thatt doesnt change the fact that during that time Black people were enslaved in the US and they were born into slavery in the US or that they were only seen as 3/5 of a person.

Don't hold your breath for MCU or Disney, their new build up with Spiderman or Force Star Wars were far from great. MCU has not shown they have the smartness to take on Mutants because none of their movies have any strong science fiction backdrop. the build up of mutants will never again surpass Xavier thesis in First Class. its the best we are ever going to get.

In this boiling climate of diversity, I think the suppose LGBT romance will get more attention. I heard the movie is less than 2 hours, so how much time can be put in a romance? not much
