I was very surprised to find myself buying Pretty Reckless "Going to Hell". I heard Heaven Knows, a song off the album on the radio and liked it not knowing who the band was. My surprise is that Taylor Momsen of Gossip Girl is the singer has what I consider a decent voice for heavy music. The album's not great but a fairly solid effort and I enjoy Going to Hell and Heaven Knows off of it.

just got this the other day --

even tho it's all stuff I have, I really liked the compilation (I'll bet it's a better song list than the KISS 40 set that's coming out this month).

this is a Russian 2CD set:

I also recently got this, which is fantastic (lead singer from the Deftones, doing goth):

Quality stuff. Been listening to the first 2 Bad Company albums a lot recently. Dismissed them as a poorer Free when I was younger but I was wrong. Love 'Shooting Star'.

Last CD - Black Stone Cherry - Magic Mountain

I'm a really big fan of all of Bad Company's material so glad to read that you are getting into the band.

Cheers for that. Just got a copy of 'Desolation Angels' and, apart from a bit of synth here and there (which I don't feel suits them), it's great stuff.

There's a couple of great Mick Ralphs songs on 'Side 2'. 'Oh, Atlanta' and 'Take The Time' back-to-back. Top.

"Oh, Atlanta" is one of their more underrated gems. I also like the song "Wildfire Woman" from Straight Shooter as an underrated classic.

    Last five CD purchases

    1. Alt-J ∆ - An Awesome Wave

My only complaint is that it didn't include a booklet with lyrics or productions notes, etc.

    2. Parliament - Osmium

    3. Roky Erickson & the Aliens - Evil One

    4. Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis Bold As Love

The digitally remastered version comes with a making of DVD.

    5. Talking Heads - The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads

Oh, that's excellent. I might just buy this one as a present for my mother.

I need to get this album. My life drawing instructor and some classmates would always have this playing in the background. Mostly the track, "Something Good" so it eventually grew on me over the semester.
