It's a accual thing you can buy in real life, and was added because it looked cool. The microscopic amount of aid it offers is just extra and fits with her not wanting to rely on her healing factor for everything like logan dose. Not every thing needs to have dramatic impacts or be part of grandiose plots, sometimes when a writer states the wall is blue there is no hidden meaning and there just stating the color of the wall.

I forgot to say this anywhere, but R.B. Silva draws an awesome Laura, and I liked how the art for her in (her gloriously ridiculous) disguise was so well-judged to toe the line. But yeah, I loved how powerful she looked on that reveal page.

Wow. Love the artwork here. That's a great pose for Laura, jumping right into the danger and taking it on directly. As much as I've enjoyed her stint as Wolverine, I'm looking forward to this series.

The conversation about Mariko Tamaki got me thinking, is there any specific writers people have wanted to see writing for X-23?

Apart from the obvious. Kyle, Yost or Marjorie Liu. Greg Rucka would be a perfect fit. As would be Cullen Bunn since he knows how to write powerful, intelligent yet very feminine women.
