I agree, it is tough to pick five favorites. Flash and Green Lantern were easy for me, but I like most of the classic JSA characters and it's hard to choose one over the other.

For me it looks something like this (NOT in order):

1) Wildcat (II) - I've always had a fondness for Yelena, in fact she is one of the first DC characters I grew to love.

2) Jay Garrick - Yes helmet and all! I much prefer this one to the NEW 52 costume, the real father of the Flash family is just excellent.

3) Green Lantern - Alan Scott was the first G.L I ever met and he's always been my favourite.

4) Jack Knight - Be it under Robinson's pen, Goyer's pen or Geoff Johns I've always had a fondness for the character (Robinson's STARMAN is actually the title I'd take to a desert island if I was only allowed one, easily some of his best work IMHO)

5) Hourman (II) - I've always had a fondness for Rick and his dynamic with his father is interesting too.

I could easily do another 5 and make a top 1o but I haven't been asked to, I'll give honourable mention to Beth Chapel and Al Rothstein though.
