Why say no, though? Like Injustice 2, this would have been free advertising for the Earth M version.

Idea's Open Discussion And Growth. Silencing Idea's Confirms Them To Be True In The Minds Of Those Who Hold Them. The Attempt Of Eliminating Idea's Proves You To Be A Fool.
Cartoon and comic are separate license.
With Milestone relaunching the comic incarnation in it's own universe, they likely wanted full control over the direction of the character and an exclusive version out there, so their relaunch is the focal point of where to follow the character. (at least at first)
Sadly what happened is the actual comic RELAUNCH hasn't happened.
So what was them trying to properly guide their character in the comic, now people bringing this up, looks like they are withholding the character from the comics. Which isn't the case.

Static along with Icon, Rocket, Hardware and a fifth unnamed Milestone character are in Young Justice Season 3

I'd rather have the Milestone and DC universe separated to be honest with you. There are so many great, neglected characters that originally sprung up in the DC continuity, that it seems heinous to waste those properties on characters that migrated from another company, and don't really meld well with the DC Universe to begin with. This is the same problem that occurred during the conception of the New Fifty Two with bringing forth the Wild Storm characters into the wider DCU. They don't belong.

To bad. Is Jakeem Thunder in this universe?
Ugh! Now I wish DC out right owned Static! I’ve always felt like it was DC that continued to drop the ball with Milestone. This summer makes two years since they announced Earth M, and still, (March Solicitations are out) nothing! WTF is going on??
Cowen recently posted a pic (looks newish) on Twitter of Static, seemingly looking forward to what they have coming. Still, no official information. Man, say what you will about Bendis, that move would have only helped propel Static. Top writer, all star artist, damn. Smh!

Jakeem is a DC character from JSA. He like many got tossed away when New 52 showed up and aside from being a one panel cameo in Grant Morrison's Multiverse book-he has been MIA in DC for now 10 years.
Don't wish that. Look at how DC treats it black characters. They can't be bothered to do anything beyond the minimal no matter what. Now I wish DC out right owned Static! I’ve always felt like it was DC that continued to drop the ball with Milestone.
He would probably be lying dead in Heroes in Crisis or trashed like the rest of the Titans. He is where he needs to be out of DC's hands.
While the main losers in all this are the fans-think of how much MONEY DC & Milestone are losing.
At a time where folks are screaming for black heroes and merchandise. Too bad Marvel is getting all of it.
What do you mean by that?
It's Milestone who get to pick and choose where (and under what circumstances) their characters appear.
Milestone is free to develop thier characters where they want.
They can (and should) develop a Static movie (animated or live action)themselves or at any studio who wants them, including Marvel if they want it.
How is this DC/WB fault?
