I mean, that was technically what they were going for so the article isn't inaccurate in that regard, being fair. I was also Ink-redulous at the lack of critique too though!

None of them really are, except apparently Santo.



I was just helping point out that Armor, Pixie, Glob, and Rockslide haven’t had their mutations altered like Rosenberg states. Pixie’s been shown to be able to switch her wings depending on how her mental and/or emotional state is; so her having bat wings isn’t an excuse to give Santo a throat. Armor in different universes has different styles that she uses for her psionic energy. In the Ultimate Universe, Armor tends to become animals whereas Hisako in the 616 just turns it into traditional armor. Glob’s always been able to catch (and stay) on fire and he’s always been a bruiser. There is not enough of a difference for us to assume that Santo was supposed to have just developed a weakness on the spot. It makes no sense and is just another lazy excuse to make up for not knowing basic knowledge on the character you’re supposed to be writing about.

A bit of a long delayed response, but I just noticed something about Glob - he's not actually on fire.
At least - not in the traditional way - he can stay on fire for apparently months without it consuming any of his bio-paraphin body.
And Armor can touch him with her bare hand without being hurt by it.

So whatever is going on with him - it IS something different from normal.

If Gabby is indeed joining I'm fine with that. Putting her on a team away from Laura is a great way to evolve her past that. Remember that it was putting Laura on NXM AWAY from Logan that helped HER develop as her own character in the first place.

It’s nice that we’ll be getting to see David again after whatever the hell happened in Dead Souls. But I’m too afraid that we’re, with the giant cast, we’re just getting “man in the chair” Prodigy and not the “capable leader who kicks ass” Prodigy that lead teams during New X-Men, Utopia, and Young Avengers. That exact subversion of David’s character is being inverted and it’s lazy writing. I hope Zub can at least strike the balance between the two.

She’s just gonna bounce off of the other characters like she does in Red. Gabby being attached to Laura at the hip never brought Gabby down, it just dulled down Laura. I’m hoping Zub adds more to her mythos, maybe delve into her relationships with the other Sisters. But with such a huge cast, I kind of doubt she’ll be getting that much attention.
