Catwoman. T+. If Clark and Diana were allowed a scene like that I would accept the ruckus. But not with a simple cuddling scene:

Can anyone imagine a scene like this for Clark and Diana? Only then I would accept Brettc's arguments. The internet would melt.
Again, not to the degree where any sort of damage control would be even remotely necessary. You're always going to have one or two people who are offended at absolutely anything. But on the by and large? Even among comic fandom, where we are well known over-reactors, this wouldn't bother enough to be any issue whatsoever from a PR standpoint.

after the Batgirl cover maybe DC just wanted to play safe for a while
The J-man
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

If ten years of recording The Young and the Restless for my mother have taught me anything, it's that characters in serial dramas are always happily in love...until they're not

Except that this wouldn't have been at all controversial. There's nothing wrong with being blatant. Just as there's nothing wrong with being subtle. Either way what to avoid is being distasteful. And this was entirely tasteful.
