I'll share one moment where I couldn't stop crying, and even two years on it still chokes me up.

Back in 2012 my dad had a heart attack, which he felt coming on at about 3 in the morning. Everyone was asleep and, not wanting to wake his kids or cause them panic, he threw on some warm clothes, called the ambulance, and walked himself down the stairs to wait for the paramedics to arrive. When I woke the next morning my mom told me what had happened and when we got over to the hospital seeing him hooked up to everything and looking so frail and weak and tired just made me break down.
I am sorry to hear that, I hope everything turned out okay for you guys.

Oh yeah, he's alright now! Thanks guys, he was in the hospital for about four days after the surgery but he pulled through alright.

In comics? Lots of stuff in Grant Morrison stories (that's probably the one area where people who hate his work agree with me), and the ends of Preacher and New Frontier.

On a related note, this makes me cry every time:

    Buh-bye

Talking about my dad. He's been gone for over ten years and I still get choked up sometimes.

Do it with the onion in a bowl of water. No odor to escape to trigger tears.

That's what I'm told anyway. I never tried it, because the odor doesn't seem to bother my eyes.
