    BOOM!
Funny. I don't see the words "I love him" anywhere in that scan.

Seems to me like she's worried about him. Hardly the same thing.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

LOVE is the most powerful force in the universe. But it can be hard. Or at least complicated.

When she's looking right at Steve and wondering if he thinks about her.

If ten years of recording The Young and the Restless for my mother have taught me anything, it's that characters in serial dramas are always happily in love...until they're not

She could just as easily be talking about Steve's love for her.

And of course she's wondering if he's thinking about her. He tends to make bad decisions when he's thinking about her.

    Not conclusive.

If you say "I still wonder about us.", you are ruling out anyone but "you" thinking about the "us".

That goes double when there is a very clear period to end that sentence before you move on to wondering about what he thinks.
