DEFINITELY Rachel!!! She's always been in my top 5 list of who Spidey should go out with. I think they would both be good for each other, with him helping her laugh and appreciate life, and she would help him be more authoritative and tactical.

I do like Jean, but she has always been more like an older sister to Spiderman.

Based on what I know about real life AND these fictional characters, if somebody is doing any "picking" - it isn't going to be Peter Parker.

Like a friend who loves Supernatural told me once: "The discussions fans have about character's love lives, whether casual or obsessive, are lifeblood for their long-term continuance, value, survival and renewal as intellectual properties or as part of culture in general".

That said, I understand your annoyance. But in the view of the aforementioned, it is the lesser evil or so I think.

X-Men debuted in 1963 and I believe Scott was said to be 16. So, same age as Peter or a year older.

But it definitely feels like Scott is supposed to be in his mid to late 30s. (Someone recently referred to him as being around 40 . . . but it may have been a young character just meaning he was "old").

And didn't Scott and Jean disappear in time with Nathan for like 7 years?

So . . . summing up . . . who the hell knows.
