...and historical racism!
EDIT: Speedy actually counted. It's poor chauffeur/stereotype Wing that didn't.

It's probably an ancient Chinese secret.

The internet tells me Wing is his first name. So either the Soldiers are so racist they won't let him have a superhero name or Wing is so damn badass he doesn't care about keeping a secret identity. He wants every mobster to know Wing bloody How beat them up.
Which means Wing is harder than Batman.

That's presumably who they were ripping off.
I mean inspired by.
Sadly, Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory was also exceptionally rare in that it had two black guys on the team. Two! Two of them! At the same time! Which, really, the Code never would have allowed.
Two and some change, since Frankenstein's got bodyparts of various lineages. And, a team with two women, neither of whom are the femme fatale A trans man. Um... Klarion, too.
All the teams in that comic were fairly diverse, naturalistically, and none of the horrible boxes are ticked, like "angry ethnic man forced onto team by quota," "here only to get kidnapped or cause sexual anxieties in men," or "he's not on the team, he irons my slacks." Chop Suzy's set up for so much potential wrongness, and really, she comes out of it great, being exoticized by people in the story, not the story itself, while the events/scenarios show how much damage that ends up doing. (Same with in-story werewolf bigotry, I suppose.) There are racial and cultural confluences all throughout the comic, from the twins to pop stars, all sorts of political and social stuff, from society's born from rape, slavery, and colonization to the anticipatory sex dynamics in Bulleteer or Manhattan Guardian.
Patsy Walker on TV! Patsy Walker in new comics! Patsy Walker in your brain! And Jessica Jones is the new Nancy! (Oh, and read the Comics Cube.)
Of course, the gimmick of Morrison's Seven Soldiers is that they never actually come together as a team. Some of them didn't even meet.

Pirates make everything better, especially if they're NOT on the sea! Dinosaur pirates are even better, but they've only had a single appearance, to my knowledge.

I have to check my trades, but I'm pretty sure the subway pirates ride a disused R train.
